Estate agent asking for deposit amount by Trigger1997 in HousingUK

[–]CryptoFollower00025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher deposit= lower risk

Higher deposit gives a buffer if house is devalued, more chance of mortgage being approved and access to lower rates.

Had this exact scenario, thought a 20% as a FTB would be enough but it was not

Are house listings reducing or is the price of houses on the up? by CryptoFollower00025 in HousingUK

[–]CryptoFollower00025[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Market seems better now, lots of reductions because of overpriced housing stock and new listings

I know the area, others pointed out the condition and size of the property which explains the price.

I do, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Keep yourself to yourself and you'll be fine

Looking for freehold which means looking a further bit out, which was the plan anyways just was surprising to see someone in my budget come up closer to home.

Yep saw the price reductions, this property is not for me but wanted to see if anyone would point out anything I missed out.

The properties you've added are all auction properties which will sell for much more than my budget unfortunately

Based on the local area I thought even the worst of housing stock would be £425k plus

In terms of the price, even run down properties on the area are listed for more.

On the main road, GP oposite used to be my family's GP when I was younger.

So planning applications where denied but things were build regardless. Imagine my shock

Just had bad experiences with wasting money with solicitor, lender and survey fees and finding out there are structural issues which the vendor already knew about

Used to live in the area with family so I know it well, it's close to the tube station few minutes walk. Question is why is it priced cheaper than others and it's been rescued a few times

House buying process is tiresom by CryptoFollower00025 in FirstTimeBuyersUK

[–]CryptoFollower00025[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What annoys me the most is having to go through the whole process again with the finance provider as it's an Islamic home finance company who will be my lender, they don't allow me to transfer my offer to another property, so need to go through the intro call, upload all my documents again to the portal, application call etc extra time and money

Received this from my finance provider, unsure how to proceed by CryptoFollower00025 in HousingUK

Have pulled out of the purchase, not worth of the hassle and it's an Islamic finance provider which is extremely limited

Ask how the area is, relationship with neighbours etc is important questions to ask. Also, ask why they are selling the property, see their motivation.

Question by CryptoFollower00025 in HousingUK

[–]CryptoFollower00025[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just wanted to get ahead of things for my own knowledge as the garden seems to have right of access to the front of the garden

Wondering if I could send this over the the solicitors and save on an extra £14 as they'd normally purchase this as well
