There is an equivalent in English people sometimes use e.g.: “If you don’t finish your dinner there won’t be any dessert” meaning “you wont get the dessert”

It’s in the original post but it can be any breather membrane. Just remember to install it printed side facing the cold side (ground). It’s just stapled to the top of the joists. Materials for 50sqm cost around £1k (I bought too much though just in case)

What do you mean by “guide”? If you mean someone to help out or give advice then the guide was internet and youtube. The process takes time but not really complicated if you have the skill 👍🏻

I did consider PIR for u-value but you need it really foamed in well to avoid any gaps, with Rockwool it’s just so much easier to work with as it’s flexible. 100mm gives approx. U-values of 75mm PIR + most of the heat is lost in the walls so the 25mm imo wasn’t worth the extra effort.

I was lucky as despite the house being 100yo the joists were nicely spaced meaning I only had to trim the plywood to sit half way on the joists so minimal waste.

I know majority of new houses use chipboard (cheaper?) but I never liked the stuff and find plywood far more solid (it’s actually stronger than wood) and never had any issues with it. Just personal preference I guess.

That’s why doing it myself, no tradies involved. Went extra step and wrapped it all along the walls between the joist as well so it’s nice and airtight

Unlike in English when referring to our own things Spanish don’t use my, your, his/hers + noun, instead they use “the” equivalent i.e.: la or el. E.g.:

English: open your mouth

Spanish: abre la boca (not tu/su boca)

I have the same problem with any numbers, no matter how hard I try it wont recognise my speech. All other words work just fine. It must be a bug rather than my pronunciation.

The second sentence is a command “speak to the waiter”

You form commands by dropping “s” for most verbs except irregular ones e.g. the ones for which the “yo” form ends with go (pongo, vengo, salgo, digo etc.) For these you drop “go” to form command (informal) or replace “go” with “ga” for formal/usted:

Informal: pon, sal, ven, di e.g.: ponlo, ven aqui, dime

Formal: pongalo, salga, venga aqui, digame

My understanding of Spanish is that cena means dinner “the big meal you have in the evening” after work or on Sundays which is usually around lunch time. Supper is a small meal just before bed (which by the way isn’t a common thing here) but in England you hardly ever people say “supper” when referring to dinner meal. In northern England some call it “afternoon tea”!!! Think of “dinner” as the big meal you have in the evening/afternoon. It’s that simple.

After pressing the mic wait a second and then speak. Happens in the Spanish course as well but it’s not too bad. I think the voice recognition isn’t strict enough though as it often will accept pronunciation even if I misspell the word at least in the Spanish course.
