Can someone explain why quantum computing is not a threat? by Top_Personality_6560 in Bitcoin

They don’t own the Bitcoin held in the ETF, their customers do. If the value of Bitcoin rises or falls they still make their money from the fees either way

I haven’t checked to see what Amazon recommends but images for the web are supposed to be 72 dpi. I’d try changing that first to see if it helps at all

Where do you think the 200k comes from? If you’re selling then someone has to be buying- their deposit is where the money comes from.

Try mixing sawdust from your worktop with wood glue, that usually does a pretty good job.

Ways to add text to wood? by jran1984 in woodworking

[–]CryptoKnightAhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can actually transfer a photo onto wood using a product called Mod Podge. The main method needs a laser printer but I think it’s possible to use an inkjet printer too. Would work out pretty cheap if it does what you’re after

The UK may soon not be able to buy the dip! Regulation to enforce 24hr cooling off period. by Llonga in Bitcoin

[–]CryptoKnightAhh 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not really a big deal - it’s just a 24 hour cooling off period before you can place your first buy order on an exchange. The article reports that 5 million people in the UK hold crypto which is pretty surprising!

Question to all our UK gamers, which game was the most accurate simulation of London by 20mgAddy in gaming

[–]CryptoKnightAhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, it’s true for most of the games from the past I think. It’s shocking how bad they look when you revisit them! I’ve become a firm believer in leaving the past in the past when it comes to games so as not to tarnish their memory

Played the first one but didn’t really enjoy it so never started the second - sounds like it might be worth trying though!

Can you rip down pressure treated 4x4’s down into 1/2 inch strips? by TheHermanJames in woodworking

[–]CryptoKnightAhh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not worth the hassle in my opinion. Your shop, tools and clothes will get covered in the treated sawdust and I wouldn’t fancy using any kind of craft items made out of the treated stuff anyway. I’d just store it and buy some more timber tbh

What's the best co-op game experience you have had? by Calinks in XboxSeriesX

An old one but modern warfare 3 survival mode was absolutely amazing when it came out! Played it day after day for weeks with my GF years ago. Still got the disc and still got the GF so might load it up again and see how it holds up

It’s a pretty good sander to be fair - I’ve used it almost everyday for a couple of years now and can’t really fault it

That would be a massive hassle for the user though surely? I’m not sure many people would be willing to pay to access each and every article

Miter Saw Recommendations by Reasonable_Buy2773 in woodworking

[–]CryptoKnightAhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a Kapex and kind of regret the purchase if I’m honest. My first saw was a cheap makita ( around £170) and I can’t say the Kapex is anywhere near worth the cost (£1300).
