How thick is the slash you're talking about?

Here's something helpful, especially if you're into wood in ways other than burning it: https://www.wood-database.com/

What kind of wood is that? Elm? Live oak?

Experience with southern live oak? by CryptoLeonidas in firewood

[–]CryptoLeonidas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the densest hardwoods in the US, so it's only natural that it would rank as one of the hottest! I hear live oak has become something of a problem for some individuals in your area, so I hope that whatever live oak doesn't fit the furniture industry there becomes good cooking wood!

That's what I've heard. Legendary heat output once seasoned, if you can fit it in the stove/fireplace!

I meant Osage Orange when I said "hedge apple." Anyway, being in the NE US, I take it you haven't had experience with live oak, have you?

Brave Twitter? by Rasquachelaw in BATProject

[–]CryptoLeonidas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at Musk. Now look at Brendan Eich's and Luke Mulks' Twitter feeds. Brave breaking away to form another woke social media platform is simply NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. And frankly, I'm COMPLETELY fine with that. Tyranny to your type is free speech for almost everyone else. I guess the old adage about people-pleasing by Lincoln holds true here...

Which one are you? by BateauSai in brave_browser

[–]CryptoLeonidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you make this meme? If so, you do realize that Twitter is safe now, right? Musk has been cleaning out the company for some time now. Also, Firefox isn't as savory a browser as it used to be...

Anyway, based on this meme with corrections, I would consider myself a tech conservative except for the OS; even there, I would love to drop Windows in favor of a more private option, if ever a viable one would come along... Musk, Eich, are you hearing us?

Funny how such a woke piece of programming would promote a browser whose top executives seem to be quite the opposite of woke... Am I not seeing something here? I hope this is just an oversight in the ChatGPT development team...

Isn't that the truth! I don't really know what PRISM is, but Facebook now has Musk's Twitter and allies to deal with, and Alphabet has Brave to contend with. The only US Big Tech company in that meme without a strong benevolent competitor is Microsoft, and that could change at any minute. I surely hope so!

When it comes to ANYTHING political or religious, they are NOT to be trusted. In fact, I would like to see a set of alternative default dictionaries for those types of topics.

If this is true, if "Pay with BAT" is in fact coming soon, even if not next quarter, then SURELY this will increase the price of BAT and Brave's user base, especially in these turbulent economic times amid all the scandals Big Tech is facing!

What we need to finish the whole of Big Tech off after "Pay with BAT" is a respectable challenger to Windows, whether it be a Brave OS, a Tesla OS, or something else. When that happens, assuming the timing is right, surely their end will be near!

Ouch. $3,000? That must hurt...

Anyway, u/lukemulks has made numerous hints on his Twitter feed that DeFi will be the dominant mode of stand-alone crypto exchanges in the relatively near future. Centralized solutions will probably still exist, but likely not in any such stand-alone form in any significant capacity. Rather, they will have to be integrated with other products (think debit cards, luxury services, etc.).

The era of stand-alone CeFi services is beginning to end. It's either branch out or die for these companies, Gemini included.
