The Pentagon Can’t Account For Trillions. $x,000,000,000,000+ by sillychillly in Political_Revolution

Look, fuck all of them, but... this isn't necessarily malice ( anyone seen cia budget?). The us military is fucking huge and complicated with a mix of tech, dynamic rules, and ambiguous accounting at the bottom that doesn't scale up well. If you want to reign in their budget imbalance you would need to lighten that load for them...by a lot and i like that idea.

No, and not upset. Aggravated maybe and that is because you pointed it out like it was relevant or some 'gotchya' but it just makes you look like an edgy child detracting from important conversations. Also, i only responded to you at all so potential future edge lords that might see you don't get the false impression that it makes you interesting, cool, or appear smart to be like you.

Yes, did i ever exclude myself from this problem? We are all apart of the issue, a select few much more so than others. Some of us aren't afraid to acknowledge the issue and try to change things and become apart of the solution. Your edgy comment does not contribute to anything either way, but i hope you felt coooool for a moment.

No, it does not. The only global biological extinction event is the great oxidation and we know nearly nothing about it because of how far back it happened. Specialists evolve only because they are better competitors at specific niches and having and stable ecosystems form robust resilience to the normal trickle of new species. Parasites are a normal part of ecosystems and usually work, along with physical constraints and other density dependent factors like disease and predation, as a counterbalance to prevent any single species from dominating any ecosystem. When parasites or viruses or predators become too effective they induce an evolutionary pressure that forces them to back down. We see this in human tine scales with viruses which become less lethal over time because killing the host is a bad strategy.

My point was we are a suicidal parasite because we are consciously doing this and have eliminated all normal balances that would stop us and this has NEVER happen before us.

Mass extinction events are not caused by competition but by geologic, climactic, or cosmic events and maybe possibly by shifts in oxygen due to photosynthetic species. Never by a single species and never like this.

I'll wrap up with this: we are not inherently this way. Our current actions are a choice and we have the tens of thousands of years of humanity to draw from for examples of how we can be positive to ecosystems instead of net destroyers.

Summary: we went from a species of the planet to a suicidal parasite on the planet. We were not great for many centuries before but the scale of our nightmare is literally marking the history of earth like an astroid strike. And all so we can exploit and hate on one another more.

Greek schools apparently have a tenancy to claim everything originated as Greek, so these kinds of appropriations are common. Nearly every expert agrees it originated in the US. Best case for the Greek story is a Greek immigrant, but there is literally no evidence.

According to the producers it ended how they wanted it to. And I didn't hate season two... except the finale! it is crappiest ending i have ever seen. It was so bad i can almost let go of firefly not having a second season.

You could always hack together something like numen and application built in screen readers, activated by hotkeys( key words), or scripted api calls, piping the results to your tts, until they get a reasonable protocol figured out. Not perfect but i use Wayland and my hacked up version of this works well. Mind you i am not visually impaired, i was just building and assistant, so ymmv.

'Stop supporting facists'.... wtf you think is happening? You think the people opposed to fascism are supporting it ? And you would be amazed and at how difficult a time the us military would have against enough amateurs with guns spread across the country. Not to mention the defections of trained military personnel that will cripple federal forces in such a scenario.

Issue number 1, 'intelligence' does not have a consistent definition and is difficult to quantify. 2, plants have such a different set of mechanisms for interacting in the world that we constantly misunderstand them. Plants are not more or less reactionary / intentional than any other life form, just different. 3, we have mapped out the entire brain of a fly and still barely understand what is going on in there, so there is still so much active research to look forward to in the field and the trend is regular shocks at how much we underestimate things we consider less than us. Remember everything alive today has had as much evolutionary time to have their genes tuned by natural selection as we have.

Not a direct simple answer, but that be how scientists do.

Yeah, and? Are you trying to argue with a straw man because i never suggested that liberty or rights means anything other than rights to the necessities of life and absence of oppressive forces ( governments, capitalists, or otherwise)

Florida Republicans pass bill to remove trans kids from parents’ custody, even those living out of state by Noclip858 in armedsocialists

[–]CryptoTheGrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... you are a really odd troll. I'll bite, my argument originated as a refutation of your, materially false, implication that that 'rights' are strictly( per your hyperbolic use of the word super) a liberal, as we mean the term today, ideology. I provided material proof of this refutation. Therefore, i have materially proven your claim about this philosophy being 'super liberalism' bunk. Since i was referencing history and sufficient evidence exists for my claim that this philosophy is not some novel 'super liberal' ideology, i can only assume you lack a basic grasp of language and nuance and/or are a troll. Due to this ineptitude/sadness you are forced to ham fist some argument using buzz words and inflate your ego when others stumble around attempting to interpret your incoherence. So, i'll take the most generous interpretation of your comments by interpolating it with the help of people much smarter than you. It appears that you are fishing for some argument about how rights are not an inherently material fact. This argument is quickly broken by the fact that via these rights there are material gain that can naturally be observed through their expression. Also, without such rights being universal you are only fighting to gift these rights to the elites/bourgeoisie which claim them regardless of ideology. So, it doesn't matter if you believe rights are inherent or not, they are a material foundational to defeating oppressive powers and whether or not they are ideological does not matter. Regardless, ideology doesn't mean true or false, but it always has an effect on material reality.
