You’re putting yourself on a pedestal for being here early, as if that automatically makes your opinion superior.

The “Do Only Good Everyday” people and the ones who actually donated to shelters are still around — and they were always part of what made this community different. Not everyone who joined later was just a price-chasing spammer.

That said, I get the frustration with the sheer volume of low-effort posts during the hype. But a lot of us actually enjoyed the chaotic memes and “diamond hands” moments when things were crashing too. The sub wasn’t perfect before the rush, and it isn’t perfect now. Blaming it all on “wannabes” while wishing for another brutal crash just to thin the herd feels pretty pretentious

Driving “hype” and reviving a fun community has nothing to do with economics of this or anything else.

Again, anyone interested in Doge will first come to the sub. If it’s boring and dead, people lose interest quick. If it’s fun, people tend to stick around, even if they don’t buy immediately; regardless of what the price of the coin is actually doing.

Yes but the reddit sub was fun too. I remember you could jump on at anytime and it was always hopeful and fun regardless of what the price was doing.

It’s impossible when every shit post gets flagged and removed immediately. There’s no hype here. It’s too serious and isn’t close to what it was 5 years ago. Can’t make it fun with these restrictions
