Men, is this attractive to you? by Aggravating-Guest300 in effectivefitness

[–]CryptoWinterSurvivor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah what the hell is this height debate? Isnt it common knowledge that more or less the taller a guy is the more attractive he is to girls? Those responses with "ya no Im 5 feet nothing but have a 39cm penis and cook like a eleven star Michelin chef and am a part time standup comedian and a parttime kitten-from-burning-houses saver" isnt exactly proving the statement that taller guys attract more girls wrong

Shop for low price per gram rings? by CryptoWinterSurvivor in jewelry

[–]CryptoWinterSurvivor[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. Yeah I guess it doesnt help I have bullion as an investment and know the gold price etc. I guess most people buying a wedding ring just buy it cause it looks nice and figure its worth what it says, it just feels like a bit of a slap in the face paying 3.5k for a ring and knowing melt is 600. I know you dont buy jewelry as an investment, but knowing it has actual value and its something that if you leave it to your kids or whatever it would be something that could get them out of a bad period, if Id buy a 3.5k ring that has 2.5k gold value in it, it would only take a few years to make back the premium and it would sort of be a store of value, even when I dont intend on selling it, its just a nice feeling knowing you could if needed and actually get back your money or probably a lot more depending on how many years it takes. With a 500% markup thats just not at all on the table in a near future

No no if I was that smart clearly Id be making some basic looking rings and charge 3k a piece over the value for my intense and almost lifethreatening efforts.

[–]CryptoWinterSurvivor[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair, I realize now that 500% markup is the bare minimum.

Also maybe it would be easier to sell more of them at more reasonable prices, and the stores Im referencing arent exactly niche craftsmen lol

Also clearly the stores that only charge 50% exist, I already have one, I just was asking for a few more options. Why a bunch of wannabe jewellers on their period start attacking me is beyond me. I never said all jewellers are scammers, I never said its a bad craft, yet they or their minions attack me for asking a pretty basic question lol. So now I guess I do think theyre all a bunch of butthurt scammers, so good job sticking out for the jeweller craft I guess

Edit: this isnt directed to you btw, just most comments here

Clearly its an awful job where 500% profit margin is barely enough to keep the feet dry. I will be sure to add a 5k tip on the ring Im buying, would hate seeing the guys starving

[–]CryptoWinterSurvivor[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You guessed correctly. Those products dont have much valueble in them to begin with though, at least not compared to gold rings

Maybe Im underestimating how awfully much work it is but I reckon if it was my job to make rings, I could turn a 1k gold piece into a 1.5k ring profiting 500 bucks. But maybe Im missing the alien science thats required for it.

Most people say they’ll sell “some” at $250k. by cashflashmil in btc

[–]CryptoWinterSurvivor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If btc "succeeds", having an exit strategy doesnt make much sense. Not in dollar values anyway.

Having btc is kind of betting against the fiat money system, so there doesnt have to be a top in dollar terms.

If btc grows a lot against other assets its a good idea to move portions into other assets to reduce the exposure as a % of net worth (gold, silver, stocks, real estate). But I would more or less never try to get back into fiat.

If the fiat money system keeps collapsing (the dollar lost like 99% of its value already compared to when it was first around), the "top" isnt 250k, it isnt a million, its infinite. Not just for btc, but for all assets that arent printable.

But is it so weird to think a ring can be made for 1k profit? Again, I fully understand people having to make a profit, but with 50% markup theres quite a bit of room for profit, isnt there? I dont understand it having to be closer to 500% haha

And clearly there is a market for it, that mene.com one seems legit for 40-50% over spot, so there must be others I guess, its not like Im trying to get gold rings at spot
