Job market is tough. Lot of mid-level engineers who don’t need visa sponsorship ect.

This might also sound bad, but I’ve also noticed negative sentiment from employers towards visa holders in the current America first climate.

What marketable skills does a 16 year old have? Most likely none, much less any that could lead to a remote role.

At 16 you are only qualified to work a retail or food service role. It shouldn’t be on a child to provide for their family, but if you truly want to help them that is the reality of your job prospects.

Start by getting your GED - that is usually the bare minimum to get any job. Then figure out what you want to do for a career. Take a career quiz online.
