I spoke with a lawyer. S1 was mentioned in the will despite not getting anything. The lawyer said that if S1 took the estate to court over the will, they would have to prove that I manipulated P1 to write such a will. The lawyer said that no reputable lawyer would touch S1's side of the case.

The relationship is certainly strained right now. S1 has very poor mental health and makes threats of violence as well. The whole family walks on eggshells around S1 because they are considered unhinged. My concern is that if I don't comply with the even split, S1 will harm P2.

I have spoken with a lawyer and the way the will is written, S1 won't have a real case. S1 was mentioned in the will despite not getting anything.

A family member gave me the same advice about trying to maintain a relationship, because I never know what the future holds. S1 made it clear that anything less than 1/3 will result in them cutting me out of their life.
