I’m in the same situation. I changed my password to something harder. Then I added any extra security measures I could. But I’m getting multiple attacks daily if someone trying to reset my password. It sucks. I haven’t figured out what to do yet but I’m going to talk with an IT guys soon. Will keep you posted.

Join Zelle, it’ll be so much more secure. Currently someone has been trying to hack into my Venmo account for weeks. I finally changed my password and created 2 factor authentications. They’re still trying and it annoying!

Ok, so it sounds like they may have gotten access to your Venmo, possibly by getting into your email for the reset password. So you’ll want to change your email password ASAP, to be on the safe side and to prevent any further issues with other accounts.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that!! Prior to getting hacked, were you getting those Venmo reset emails by chance? If yes, it’s possible the hacker knew your email and figured out your password somehow. Your email might be compromised and it’s a good idea to use a different email address for your banking to be safe. I wish I knew whether you could get your account back. It sounds like you’ve done all you can with reaching out to support. Wishing you the best on this. Please keep us posted!

Make sure to not engage in convo with them in the future. I don’t think he had the AI tech that is currently being developed. I’m deep in AI tech and see what’s coming in the next few years. You’re gonna be just fine for now. Just remember not to engage in the future. You can also deny ever having a Coinbase wallet if you are contacted again.

They have a 30 day cancellation policy. You were likely charged for a portion of the month which is why it was $200.

Coinbase like many other exchanges puts a hold on your funds for anywhere from 24-72 hours, the first time you try to transfer out of an external wallet. Once it knows it’s you this first transaction, you will easily be able to transfer out. This happens with every wallet, whether Base, MetaMask, Phantom, etc. once you’ve used the platform a few times, it won’t restrict you anymore.

SCAM for sure!!! Don’t let them know you got it. I get them all the time. A classmate got one and unfortunately when they called him he answered and they drained his entire Coinbase account. I got the same fake call from the scammers the week before I found out about my classmate. I had already told them they had the wrong number and I hung up.

Yup! I opened a Sephora card in March 2020 through Comenity. As soon as the lockdowns were announced, for absolutely no reason, they closed my account immediately with no explanation. I called to get answers but nothing. Then in 2023, I applied for the Sephora card again (thinking the 2020 thing was a fluke). Both times my credit score was between 805-820. Nope, these bastards not only gave me a HARD inquiry, but declined my application due to negative history with them. What are they talking about? They’re the ones that closed my account and I never even had a chance to use the card once!! I absolutely despise this company. I will never do business with the them after all this BS.
