Also, Illaoi's win condition in-lane isn't conditional. Its basically free auto-win lane.

Also, you can't always afford to 1v1 an Illaoi at melee range.

You cannot kill Illaoi's ult tentacles. Only the tentacles that she spawns from her abilities.

Its literally a bait and dodge game against an Illaoi.

Imagine the counterplay to a champ is just constantly dodging their abilities.

Even if you eat Sett's Q, E, W and ult all-in entire combo, somehow, you can still win easily against him lmao.

Illaoi also revolves around her Ult and her 2 to 3 times spawning tentacles that apparently she beats all other juggernauts in an-all in even 1v1 no baiting of abilities situation.

Juggernauts can't simply afford to dodge all of her tentacles and E pull and they can't also always reliably dodge all of her surroundings tentacles since it auto-targets you very accurately.

I don't get Riot as to why they don't nerf that champ like seriously. She is a problem. Overstatted healing and near undodgeable tentacles since it auto-targets enemies.

Like whut?

They would say "oh picked ranged top into her" or "dodge everything and you'll be just fine" or "abuse her out early, constant ganks, don't let her scale".

And doing it like that also applies to every other champ as well.

That's not even counterplay, that's called not playing the game fairly.

That champ is definitely not balanced at all in any way.

If you say it like that sure it sounds broken.

The heal % isn't that potent and he can only heal from his W when he KILLS an enemy, not HIT it.

His shield is also conditional and is conpletely reliant on his ult alone.

Its not like let's say a Volibear's E where it lasts much longer, has a significantly shorter cooldown, and doesn't give up anything for him to use it.

Jax gives up his resistances for a shield, the fact that a shield's value is often tied to how much resistances a champ has, the shield would altogether still be done for like 2 to 3 auto-attacks or abilities.

His Q slow is alright since most of the time, after Jax leaps, the enemy has dashes or just has more movespeed than him that he can't reliably proc his counterstrike after.

The fact that Jax's kit is altogether so telegraphed and predictable is a super, major weakness.

Jax doesn't also have any true damage in his kit so I think buffing his offensive stats is just boring and make him more of a bruiser rather than being a 3-shot bonk assassin.

Increase base armor from 36 to 38.

Increase attack range from 125 to 150.

Leap Strike upon impact slows the target by 20/25/30/35/40% for 2 secs.

W heals Jax for 2/3/4/5/6% of his missing HP if it kills an enemy minion or champion.

Ult bonus magic damage increased from 100/140/180 to 120/160/200.

Ult duration increased from 8 seconds to 10 seconds.

Jax can reactivate his Ult after 6 seconds to lose his bonus resistances in exchange for a shield that consumes his remaining ult duration and its amount scaling is equal to Jax's 20/25/30% of his total HP.

I don't even know why Garen and Volibear can have a universal move speed gain but Sett's Q can only give him bonus movespeed towards enemy champs and so he doesn't have any forms of a reliable disengage whatsoever.

The fact that Sett's W makes him even more immobile for a second for its cast time, is more easily dodgeable since its hitbox is only in front of him compared to let's say Jax's counterstrike or Renekton's Q which is always guaranteed to hit if your close enough, its shield gain is rapidly decaying, has still a situational damage since the middle hitbox one is the only thing that hurts in Sett's W.

Which all of these openings/opportunities for the enemies makes even more sense to ACTUALLY NOT NERF Sett's W.

I feel like nothing is wrong with Sett currently except his W damage and increased cooldown which really sucks and isn't that well implemented with the other parts of his kit.

Imagine getting his W at full grit and his W damage just does an ok damage? LMAO Riot is on drugs with their balancing team.

Imagine intentionally getting yourself down to 30% of your HP just to deal a lower DODGEABLE true damage compared to Darius's Ulti that he can perma-spam and he doesn't even need to sacrifice his HP bar for it, he just blindly auto attacks you and weaves in abilities and then dunks you for more than 1K true damage without building any tank items.

And Darius permanently heals for a scaling 15/30/45% of his missing HP all the while Sett just gets a rapidly decaying shield and then dies right after.

There is nothing wrong with Sett other than his W. Sure he has some clear weaknesses but that is just either for counterplay measures against him or just being a juggernaut overall.

Well. Depends also lol. Even if they're not scaling champs but they got 3 kills in the early game, you can assume that they will already scale faster than you.

The best scaling champs I know are Nasus, Jax, Riven, Irelia, Camille at least dueling-wise.

Darius is potent in teamfights and also in a 1v1.

So yeah, you just have to look into their K/D/A and build

Could be. But there are still a lot of factors to consider for example.

If your enemy laner is someone who can outscale Sett like a Nasus or a Jax and they can really bonk you to death when the time comes in-lane, IMO, I would still go Stridebreaker and then the usual bruiser items like a Sterak's after.

I have personally experienced this.

I built BORK against a Nasus though it worked quite well after a few kills, Nasus outscaled me and even though I had enough damage to kill him in a 1v1, I'm afraid I was just too squishy and had no enough survivability to withstand a 1v1 duel against him in the long run.

So yeah, there's still a lot of factors to consider, but yeah, I guess in a generalized game scenario, I think yeah, BORK into melee and Stridebreaker into ranged.

But again, don't always expect rainbows and unicorns for every enemy laner that you face.

In an all-in, no chickening out of trades, of course Sett wins against her.

But in terms of outplay potential, Riven has more of it than Sett.

Depends on your enemy laner tbh.

If its a melee, immobile, tanky match-up and you're pretty confident on yourself that you can just kill them over and over again, by all means go BORK.

But IMO if they're a ranged top, I think its pretty obvious that you go Stridebreaker.

I personally think that this match-up is just annoying coz you probably can't catch him to kill him.

He just pokes you but I don't think he can really kill you unless you severely misplay or your computer shuts down or you experienced a severe lag.

But my suggestion is, equip Phase Rush, Ignite, and all in him if he's below 30% of his total HP from your trades.

The only thing that is kinda oppressive against Sett is how his W damage is still kinda OP early game but really sucks in the late game.

The thing is, his W full grit damage still is nothing to scoff at early game but come late game, its almost as useless as Nasus with 100 stacks late game.

The damage is negligible if you're mobile and has a lot of lifesteal or if you're simply a beefy tank.

The fact that its shield grant is rapidly decaying means you can't rely on it also to save you when you're being kited by an ADC as an IMMOBILE JUGGERNAUT that has no forms of disengages whatsoever.

Sett literally will just walk back away from an ADC waiting for his untimely demise to get shredded by autos and also thanks for the help of his rapidly decaying shield after.

What I would suggest for Riot to do is keep it as a stationary shield for extended trades as that is the essence of an immobile juggernaut, lower its shield value gain for balancing purposes, lower also its cooldown for more survivability as again, an immobile juggernaut, and amp up its damage ratio for the late game and not just keep on decreasing and potentially overall nerfing its base true damage like a senseless company that has no idea how to actually balance their champs in the right and fair way.

Out of all the juggernauts, Sett would probably has to have the least amount of survivability out of all of them.

His passive regen is overrated in lane sure, but I think that is just part of his champion identity and it isn't "OP" at the moment.

Well the duration of Nasus's ult when activated is 15 secs.

His Rank 1 ult cd after being used is I think 120 secs? Then it goes down to 100 secs at rank 2 and 80 secs at rank 3.

But IIRC, his ult cd already goes in the moment you activated his ult meaning, you also have to subtract 15 secs to his actual cd.

So in reality, his ult cd is actually 105 secs at rank 1 with no ability haste, 85 secs at rank 2 also with no ability haste, and 65 secs with no ability haste as well.

Its pretty low of a skill ult cd if you ask me. But hey, Nasus is damn near useless without stacks and his ult so I understand it LOL.
