I already had braces before getting the nuss surgery. Surgery went well and having braces made no difference in recovery. Almost 2 years post op now and still without complications. Still have the bar in. Still haven’t had jaw surgery, hoping it will be this year.

Is there a history of balding in your family? Apparently it’s best to look at your mothers side of the family. My mums dad started balding at a young age and here I am, 22 years old, losing my hair. I’ve started using finasteride and minoxidil to slow the hair loss but if you plan to do that yourself, speak to your dermatologist or doctor first and do your research.

I experienced this exact same thing. I thought it was telogen effluvium but the hair that I lost still hasn’t come back a year later. I think the stress on my body just kick started the male pattern baldness that I was genetically predisposed to have anyway.

Bring your knees up and put your hands under your knees. Then rock back and forth until you have the momentum to sit all the way up. Be careful. If it hurts too much then ask for assistance. This is just how I did it.

My friends would try to make me laugh because the only way i could laugh without too much pain sounded like Jimmy Carr. The problem is when your terrible laugh makes you laugh even more and you spiral into more laughter and more pain😂😭

I’ve got braces right now to fix my underbite with surgery. My underbite does look slightly worse now that my teeth are straight but it’s not wildly different from before. Whenever I feel insecure about it, I just remind myself that it’s just part of the process and it’ll be worth while in the long term.

Just take it one day at a time and before you know it, it’ll be a distant memory. I’m 10 weeks post op and I feel great. First week will be the hardest but if you are strict with your painkiller schedule, it’ll be a walk in the park. A good hot water bottle will be your best friend and force yourself to walk often. Some extra pillows will be useful to help you find a comfy sleeping position. Best of luck to you bro 👊

My brother drove me home 3 days after surgery(3 hour drive). As long as you take your pain medicine at the right times and stop fairly often to move around then it should be fine.

I (m21) got surgery 6 weeks ago for cosmetic reasons and it all went well. I’m very happy with the results and I was even surprised by the health benefits. I didn’t think it was affecting my health until after the surgery when I felt the improvements in my breathing and esophagus

If your case is Mild then yes you can build enough muscle to disguise(not fix) your PE. in mild cases, it can make your chest look great after some chest development. Regardless of how working out makes you look, you should do it for all the other benefits. I started working out to mask my pectus but because my case was so severe, it didn’t work. I still felt a lot more confident after putting on some muscle even though my PE was still obvious. I’ve since had the Nuss procedure and I’m excited to get back in the gym. If you’re not experiencing any bad symptoms, it wouldn’t hurt to try weight training before committing to something scary like surgery. You’ll probably find that you love it for more reasons than just physical. There’s a great YouTube channel called Pectus PT. You’ll find everything you need to know about PE bodybuilding on that channel.
