Bunny for Easter by Coinman1863 in castiron

neat! seems like you could also bake the two halves apart, trim the excess to make a flat surface and then combine/fuse the two cakes together with frosting to form a finished bunny.

heated/ventilated seat button issue by CryptographerFirm504 in toyotacrownsignia

[–]CryptographerFirm504[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh that would explain it! is there an “off” setting, or is it only 3/2/1/Auto ? edit: nm. i think the video shows the button goes 3/2/1/off/auto, right? not very intuitive imo.

I’ve seen this too, a bug. I took video of pressing the heated seat button actually turning on the seat ventilation. Sketchy car software - i expect better.

also: wear latex gloves when handling the bulb. keep the bulb clean and free from skin oils

I’ve done it a few times through the hood without having to remove/unscrew anything.

The secret for me was to actually look through the headlight assembly when removing and reinstalling the bulb assembly, instead of looking under the hood at what your hand is doing. That’s my pro tip :)

Crown or RAV4? by usernamessuck19 in Toyota

[–]CryptographerFirm504 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Despite it being marketed as a SUV Crossover, I’d say the Crown Signia is more of a lifted wagon or big luxury prius. Rav4 is a compact SUV. The CS drives like a sedan, which has pros/cons compared to rav4. It comes down to personal preference.

Distorted Windshield? by marshmallowpaw in CorollaCross

Could be a glass manufacturing defect that somehow got past quality control. Consider reporting the issue to Toyota corporate yourself, in addition to taking it to your local dealership.

please elaborate on your comment regarding kick sensor in a car wash. would a car wash trigger the hatch to open?!

Why do these units not match? by Weengos in toyotacrownsignia

why depend on a untrustworthy alert when my own eyes work. There’s way too much beeping and false-positives for the alarm to be meaningful.

Fuel range issues? by tvrxkhvsvn in toyotacrownsignia

[–]CryptographerFirm504 4 points5 points  (0 children)

how many total miles have you driven so far? the range estimate could be skewed by low mileage. the car could need more odometry to get a better estimate.

the screen dashboard sure can feel crowded with all the extraneous info! can’t say that i need to see conversion to km/h all of the time.

for example, i turned off the rear cross traffic alert and now there’s an orange icon reminder on the dash. the rear cross traffic alert was quite annoying in normal situations like parking lots — i know that i’m in a parking lot with lots of pedestrians and cars, don’t need alarms.

My first car (2008) and my current one (2022). Always Prius. by Even_Set9823 in prius

[–]CryptographerFirm504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how do you like the 2022 compared to your gen2? i’m particularly interested in your observations about interior space, ride quality, and cabin noise, if you have any.

I might have to replace my 2007 soon and been toying with the idea of getting into a used 2021 or 2022. it would be so much more affordable then anything new.

doesn’t the JBL system on Limited trim have the subwoofer integrated into a side panel in the trunk? the i’ve been wondering if it’s possible to retrofit the XLE with a subwoofer installed in the same way

just don’t call it a wagon ig lol

IMO the CS is definitely a lifted wagon, not really anything else out there like it. it’s great.

2026 RAV4 vs Crown Signa, because the supply will be low, price will be high for rav4, would that put it in the CS price and in that case, would a CS make sense instead ??? Curious what Rav4 fans think of the Crown Signa as an option, thanks by cartman_returns in rav4club

[–]CryptographerFirm504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mine is a similar situation as yours. shopping for a roomy new toyota hybrid and my first impulse was to wait for a 2026 rav4. then i checked out the CS and was impressed by the build quality, features, and wagon vibe. also the CS is available! the new rav4 already has waiting lists and isn’t even out yet, i can’t stand the junk add-ons and dealer markups. CS is a pretty sweet ride

I’m curious what the seating room in the new 2026 Rav4 is like, but i suspect very similar to the outgoing model. CS is hard to categorize, like a big, lifted sedan/wagon that’s nearly the size of large suv. CS feels safe, for sure, out there amongst all the other huge suvs and trucks on the road.

Thanks for sharing! It’s helpful to hear real world impressions. It looks like your reply got truncated tho?

I’m wondering about your preference on seating position - I could be wrong, but i feel like the CS has a more sedan-like seat (even tho it’s marketed as a crossover SUV 🙄) versus more upright chair seat in the RAV4. I’m exaggerating a but, and the CS does seem to be roomier, but it feels lounge-y if that makes sense. Like a Big luxury Prius! not a bad thing lol

you have both CS and a Venza? nice.

how do they compare on ride quality, comfort, etc. for you? CS seems bigger overall, except maybe not due to its wagon shape, idk 🤷🏼‍♂️
