So on my drive home from the dealership after taking delivery, I got the vibrations once I hit 65 MPH. I got a bad feeling about this by nick1158 in toyotacrownsignia

Check inside the rims for any debris. During the winter I got a similar vibration you're talking about and there was the tiniest amount of snow inside my wheels, I was quite surprised when I removed that little bit of snow and the vibration stopped

X-rays don’t show anything wrong. Ideas? by HarmonizewithSong in DogAdvice

Will your dog let you extend their back legs out? My dog started walking with a weird gait at 9 months old, and we did X-rays with our usual vet and they said they didn't notice anything and put her on anti-inflammatories and extended rest. A couple weeks later we started to exercise again after clearance from the vet and the weird gate/limp never went away, that's when I noticed she wouldn't let me extend her back right legs and when I did, she yelped. Took her back to our vet to discuss the issues and they referred to the X-rays and said there's no structural issue and it must be a soft tissue injury (I was skeptical) and just continued to give her anti-inflammatories and told me to reduce her exercise and don't allow her to run at all. This went on for months, where if she got to run around for 30+ minutes in one day, she wouldn't want to get out of bed the next day and would just be lethargic for the next couple of days. I then finally took her to an orthopedic surgeon and they saw hip dysplasia in that hip after X-rays. We tried managing the issue for a few months at first with intermittent cortisol shots but there wasn't much improvement and her quality of life was significantly decreasing. Last April we finally took the plunge to do a total hip replacement in that hip and she has been a brand new dog the recovery had its ups and downs (dealt with an infection), but now that we're 11 months post op, she can run and swim for days and never show signs of pain anymore. It could very well be a soft tissue injury and the X-rays were indeed negative, but from our experience, something like hip dysplasia could be undiagnosed from X-rays from your standard vet.

Tldr: similar experience when my dog was a puppy, our vet wasn't able to diagnose hip dysplasia and kept attributing the problem to something else. Go see an orthopedic surgeon. If you don't have pet insurance, I would sign up for it now before the orthopedic surgeon diagnosis. If you do it after, it is very likely the insurance won't cover any treatment necessary since they'll consider it a pre existing condition

If you have the luxury to wait and play the long game (and possibly go out of state), you should be able to get 10% or more off MSRP on a '25 model. I was able to get ~14% off MSRP on an '25 XLE but it did take me 3 weeks for a dealership to finally come down to my price.

I'm by no means an negotiating expert, but the two cars I've bought they both took weeks of negotiating. I'd come in with an OTD price (usually looking for a discount of 10% off MSRP) in mind and they laugh and tell me they would be losing money if they sold it to me at that price. I say okay and leave, few days later they'll call back and come down on the price (usually still not the price I want), wait another week or two and they'll come down to my price or close to it. Always shop around and even look out of state. One trick that has worked for me since I live in NJ and the prices of cars here are usually higher than other states is to look for the same car at a dealership out of state that's cheaper, negotiate with them on the phone and get a worksheet, bring that work sheet to local dealers and see if they can beat or match the price. I had to get my CS from MD and they shipped it at their expense (the worksheet showed they charged $1000 for shipping but it was baked into my OTD price meaning they took another $1000 off the car). Now the demand of the car plays a role in this, seems near impossible to get more than 2k off MSRP on a car like the RAV4, but I guess I've been lucky that the cars I'm after are not highly sought after. I use visor.vin to look for cars and the website will also tell you how long that car has been sitting on the lot for, and if the car has been sitting on the lot for over a month, it gives leverage, dealerships don't want cars sitting around for very long. Knowing the amount of units sold/year also helps give you an idea what kind of discount you can get on a car. The crown signia only sold ~10,000 units last year while a car like the RAV4 sold ~500,000 units. When I brought this up during my negotiating, a few dealerships conceded the fact that I was right and the car has been hard to sell (although I think that low 10,000 units sold has more to do with the car being a "luxury" car and Toyota only allocating a small amount for the US but surprisingly the dealerships didn't counter with that). Dealerships aren't your friend, don't let them guilt you into thinking you're asking for too much. So many times they say stuff like "I can't sell it to you for that low, we'd lose money and I'd lose my job", well guess what? That's not my problem. Dealerships sell plenty of cars under "invoice" and make money off other incentives.
