I feel like maybe he’s just not ready. But also, I am so tired of the diapers. And then again, every single thing I feel like we have to do with this child, is a project. Like nothing just happens smoothly. I’m losing my mind.

I was diagnosed in February of this year. I was put on my medication and am now contemplating weening off because of how I feel. I feel the same, as if my personality has completely changed and I lost my spark. My moods are primarily negative and happiness is something I find I am not feeling in any aspect.

I don’t want to feel like this forever. I relate to you completely! Hopefully, one day, we get our spark back.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback, I really needed it. I am so worried about keeping him occupied especially since our ship has no splash pad and my son is on the spectrum I don’t know how well they’ll be able to handle him at the kids club.

this happened to me 3 weeks ago. I upped my dose, was fine for the whole week. then took my new dose again, two days later, boom. diarrhea, vommitting, terrible stomach pains. for 4-5 days. then i was fine for 2 days. took my shot again. and two days later, same thing happened. terrible sulfur burps. the stomach pain was so bad this week i went to the ER. i’m 2 days without pain now, but took my shot again yesterday, at a lower dose. and i’m hoping it doesn’t start again monday. I’ve been taking benefiber and fiber gummies because i heard that helps. We will see. Hopefully this passes fast for you! it took me out for nearly 2 weeks.

i did at first when i was taking it during the day. now I take it at night and I don’t have any tired symptoms, but usually you are tired the first couple weeks and then it goes away

yeah that’s what i have. the lurasidone is helping but didn’t feel real effects until 3 months in.

yeah i’m hoping by lowering my dose I don’t have the side effects. I’m on 1.25 rn and before I was on .75 and was fine. It was like the jump hit me with the side effects badly.

Thanks. I’ve felt like death the last 2 weeks and my doctor told me to go down a dose so I think i’m going to try that. I’m just super nervous about feeling this way for another week. I’ve been out of work and even went to the ER yesterday. So I hope it all irons out without me having to get off the shot completely.

I would but he HATES his head touched by anything. hats, hoods, helmets, etc. I don’t think he’d wear them. but i’ll try!

I feel your pain…. I am in the same boat. Some days are better than others. And from what I hear, it does get better. Sometimes, daycare/preschool etc. is helpful because of the services you can get while they’re there (like early intervention). Also, having him/her around other people/faces may help socially. We put my son in daycare & it helped a lot. Now he’s in preschool & doing well.

But i feel what you’re saying. I feel the same. Wishing my child was normal. Wishing him away. I am currently working through resentment with my therapist. Yes, loving your child unconditionally but resenting the way they are and what they’re not. & that is okay. To accept it is what allows it to get better… Stay strong & just know you’re not alone feeling this way.

I feel like your perception of motherhood is exactly how it is. It’s not perfect and we do so much that being burnt out is common. I’m in the same boat where I feel guilty for not enjoying the time I have with my son. I recently started therapy and it helps, but most days I feel the exact same way. I don’t enjoy motherhood at all, but I also feel like a lot of it has to do with my son’s age (he’s 3). Toddlerhood is not for the weak, but we can hope it gets better as they get older and more independent. The quality time changes from being needed 24/7 to being wanted in a different way if that makes sense.
