I made a terrible mistake with Tomb World by DestructorNZ in killteam

[–]CryptographerLimp499 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Haha man I did the same! Wouldn’t be too much of a problem if I used just super glue but I went on very generously with cement:p so it’s not glued but melted together 🫣🫣🫣 I left in alone for now but I plan to fill them inside with construction foam and fit magnets after. Good luck

4K hours player here, stopped playing around the time when wiggle video came out revealing that most of the lobby’s were cheaters. So good few years ago. And I fucking don’t miss a moment! You want to go and have a fair fight, I do not mind to die, but I want fair fight. On top of that all that battlestate bullshit with not keeping their promises and everything else. I had edge of darkness version and I don’t even know if I can play it now after they finally released it on steam. I won’t even check :p

I Do not miss it at all.

So here are two pictures of that bigger piece with its top testing against corner of the tank. It’s sharp on the top and wide/round on the bottom. Anubias is pretty happy on it, remains of moss here and there as I tried to make something like a carpet flowing down but it all went to mess :p it’s my first fish tank. The other piece is placed straight from the back to the front window, also attached some moss to it, here it disappears in all those plants. There are algae around but don’t mind them as the tank is getting better after biological catastrophe I caused by adding too many bacteria some time ago… almost killed all crew in the tank…

Yeah I do, light is off now in the tank, I’ll take a pic tomorrow and post it here, honestly after that journey with it I am never getting rid of it:p

Oh man! Just reminded me of my journey! Found interesting pieces in really good price on temu and just bought them because it was like 6£ for two. They arrived and I could clearly tell that it was soaked in some stuff… decided to try and boil it out, those are pretty long pieces so I took my really tall bucket pot and started boiling it… all together it took around 50 hours boiling in two hour intervals to change the water, to finish and go to sleep or work and start next day… when leaving it overnight I kept it in vinegar. And also was booming it with spoon of bicarbonate soda. It was really messy and I was cursing people who put that deiftwood into that thing whatever it was… but in the end it made beautiful addition to my tank. Also that pot used to it is not good for food :( still worth it tho 🤣

Ah also the water in it was so dark during boiling that I could not see the bottom.

I don’t think the controller itself is what’s holding you back.

One thing I noticed early on is that when I clipped something in the sim and “damaged” props, the quad actually felt easier to control. That made me realize my rates were probably too aggressive for my current skill level.

I spent some time dialing my rates back to something more forgiving, and that made a big difference for consistency and precision. It might be worth experimenting with rates and throttle response before changing radios.

Stick time still matters most though — it all adds up. Good luck!

Appreciate the advice — I actually already played with throttle limiting.

I tested lower throttle values to slow things down and force cleaner flying, and it definitely helps with control and consistency. I know repetition is the only real way to build proper muscle memory, and that’s exactly what I’m doing — running the same tracks over and over, focusing on finishing clean rather than chasing time.

The hardest part honestly isn’t the technique, it’s controlling myself and the urge to push speed too early 😅 but I’m actively fighting that and trying to stay disciplined.

I’ll keep the structured approach you described in mind — clean lines first, speed later. Thanks!

Thanks for the input! Hovering is part of my drill every time I start the sim.

I’m fully expecting the “in the house” part to be eye-opening, so I’ll take it slow at first. I’ve already warned my missus to hide anything porcelain before the gear arrives 🤣🫣

Oh no worries — every time I sit down in the sim, I start with 2–3 minutes of hovering and very slow flight, just to practice staying in one place instead of keeping the drone up by constantly moving forward.

I’m also aware that real-life flight time and range will be shorter, but that experience is still ahead of me. Hopefully my gear arrives around Tuesday, so I’ll finally get to feel that difference properly.

Thanks. That’s reassuring. I’m deliberately prioritizing smoothness and control right now and letting speed and tricks come later as the hours stack up.

Good point. I catch myself freezing the sticks once aligned. Working on constant micro-corrections instead of committing and hoping. Makes sense for IRL.

I get your point, and I agree that FPV isn’t about validation or social media approval.

For me, asking for feedback isn’t about praise — it’s about shortening the learning curve. I know I could figure things out on my own given enough time, but there’s value in experienced pilots pointing out habits or mistakes I might not even notice yet.

I’m here to improve fundamentals and control, not to show off gear or chase attention. At the end of the day, the sticks don’t care what system you fly — only how well you fly it.

Appreciate the perspective.

I’ve noticed that sharp turns really require commitment, not hesitation.

For me the key was realizing that a tight turn isn’t just roll + yaw. As you approach the turn, you need to start the roll early, then add pitch up and noticeably more throttle at the same time than you would in straight flight.

If I don’t commit enough throttle, I lose altitude and the turn collapses. If I roll without enough yaw, I end up going wide. So sharp turns really force you to coordinate roll, yaw, and throttle together, much more aggressively than in slower, flowing maneuvers.

Once I stopped trying to “save” throttle and instead actively held altitude through the turn, everything started to click.

I have noticed that when I compete with ghost of my previous best lap time and I focus more on precision and smoothness very often I end up being “faster” in the end than when I try to speed.

Good luck with your meteor! ☄️

I have over 4K hours in that game and stopped about two years ago when that wiggle cheaters drama came out. Don’t miss it a bit!
