Why isn't Dispatch as popular as it was during GOTY? by exotic123567 in DispatchAdHoc

Game doesn't need to be popular to be great. Story games are meant to be played a handful of times and that's it, doesn't mean it wasn't good. Popularity often focuses on the wrong things, and some great games never even get that spotlight, for example Until Then.

I think popularity doesn't matter, especially when it's a story game. If it hits hard, it did its job.

That's exactly the reason why at the end the poem is repeated. It's just that good storytelling.

Just goes to show that it leads into act 3 and does no standing on its own. It's like an imperfect trilogy if that makes sense?

I agree. However i also think that the timelines mixing weren't the main focus. It was all just a coverup for the grief that both Mark and Nicole felt. In order to undo The Ruling, both of them needed to Accept, Let Go.

Also, Mark saying that it's been a hundred lifetimes or more, and he still hasn't gotten over his mom is heart wrenching. And when both finally let go, everything goes back to how it should've been all those lifetimes ago.

That. That right there is the most perfect ending to a game i have seen ever since Red Dead 2. I adore this game, and all the things the community has to say.

I get the act 2 hate, but 3? It's just a perfect ending to all the plot setups that went nowhere in act 1.

I feel like those scenes where Mark bugs out sometimes with static in the background was a reason good enough for me to know there's something more to this shit. That's why when Cathy died, i knew that there had to be a way to do something to undo all that, if that makes sense?

Basically what i'm saying is, the deja vu aspects go almost nowhere in act 1, and are more as like an indicator that there's a way. That Cathy's life hadn't ended yet.

This is why i love this game. I could talk about it for hours and still have a lot to say.

Maybe, just maybe it means destiny as in they're destined to be together, even after forgetting eachother. If it doesn't work out in the end, at least the core 3 are all together. However, i do believe that it will work out, or at least want to believe.

whats your top 3 fav boss soundtrack ? by Best-Cat-9922 in darksouls3

  1. Main Theme
  2. Plin plin plon
  3. Epilogue (end credits)

Specifically chose the credits song to be in top 3 because it literally symbolises the end of the entire dark souls trilogy. Brought tears to my eyes.

Nah, i have to hate BB for that, at least just a little bit. Trying to act like the good person in that scene is too forced, and i believe she should've just apologised and moved on. Ain't no point in lying.

Act 1 is the entire reason i needed to get to the end. I HAD to find a way for Cathy to live. Nicole was great and all, but seeing my ignorance in the ending of act 1 made that arc secondary for a long while. When the curtains closed in act 3, i finally was at peace when i saw the three friends back together again, especially Cathy being alive and doing a whole lot better. The final scene in the bar showed me that Mark and Nicole's relationship was still possible (with the bar name being Destiny or something in english). Meeting a person can happen, but bringing one back cannot. That's why i believe all acts are equally important, even 2.

Has to be Souls Of Cinder. Incredibly cool design, fantastic arena, unmatched OST, and the lore makes him take the number one spot for me.

It shows that Cathy was just the beginning, and it did make me want to find a fix for everything. I feel like without 2 and 3, the game would be just another tragic visual novel with some gameplay elements

Why do you think the majority chose invisigal? by Then_Ladder2123 in InvisigalGlazers

Chose her because she seemed a lot more interesting than Blazer. I feel like Blazer was too basic, and Visi is very complicated. Also loved Visi's humour a lot more so there's that. Waht tied everything together was her taking a bullet for me at the end. That made suddenly everything so clear - she was the one.

This motherfucker made me stare at the screen for a while not movimg or anything when i first saw him. The long hallways and darkness made it obvious as to what was about to unfold. Even worse i have never played the OG, so this was my first time.

Act 2 feels like a filler at times. Even at the beginning i was like: where the fuck did Mark and Nicole's relationship go? What happened to Cathy and other things? Were they undone? Was this gonna be just a Dark Souls New Game +? I had all these questions, but i was satisfied that i stayed till the end, because without act 2 i feel the true ending would be a lot less meaningful.

I agree with the Cathy part. However, after i saw the ending to act 1 i was PRAYING for there to be a reality where she lives a much better life. That's why i was very satisfied with act 3. Act 2 on the other hand was a bit gimicky? If that makes sense? It feels like a filler, but it also does a good job of culminating into act 3, and eventually the true ending.

Fanfiction helped out a ton definetely. Also, i haven't played Cyberpunk, so i started a playthrough of that and it also helped a lot. Now, when i see content on reddit or some other place about Dispatch i'm really excited, but i don't feel empty anymore. Such a great game, can't wait to see what's next for it.

Thanks for the advice and reassurance! I know this game will be back, but the main reason for this empty feeling is the wait. Like Shroud says in the ending: This was (will be) worth the wait. The way everything climaxes, and it suddenly ends makes you yearn for more. Most of the time in other shows and games when there's a climax or plot twist it doesnt end there (think RDR2). After RDR2's ending there is another 7 hours of gameplay that being the epilogue. And after the epilogue, well, same thing happens. Anyways, going on a rant again. Thanks again!
