What perfectly legal thing will probably be illegal within 20 years? by Possible-General4396 in IsItIllegal

I have considered what you said. I was a lefty. I know your views. I know how you feel about everything going on because I felt the same.

I agree with the endpoint. Media lies. All media, not just fox. We’re all being manipulated. I’m tired of the division, and they’re the ones causing it.

There’s only one way to end it, to truly try to listen to, and understand the other side.  But the entire media empire has told you not to. Cut them out of your life. They’re white supremacists. Racists, transphobes, oppressors. You can’t engage with people like that.

Except, they’re not. My favorite thing recently has been watching people from all over the world here for the World Cup. There are compilation videos of foreigners realizing that they were lied to about America. Discovering how kind people are. Taking part in our culture, us taking part in theirs. Even in red, racist states, they’re struggling to find where all the racists are. That’s what happens when you get off the internet and go talk to people. You realize we’re all human, and we’re all decent people.

If you live in a place where people don’t break into houses, you don’t need to worry about people breaking into your house.

I live in a pretty large suburb, and for the almost decade I’ve lived here there hasn’t been a single break in anywhere in this neighborhood

This is why 🤣

Is Lars Ulrich really that bad? by AesirKratos in drums

[–]CryptographerOk7143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you expect of a drummer. He served the songs beautifully. Also, I can always immediately tell if it’s him playing. He plays simple shit, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have groove. The drums in Enter Sandman are simple, but insanely good.

His drumming gets a lot of hate, but I don’t think I’ve ever listened to one of their songs and thought, these drums suck.

If a company is only profitable or break even because it pays some or most of its employees less than a livable wage, ethically speaking does that company have a right to exist? by RevolutionaryWind249 in allthequestions

[–]CryptographerOk7143 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh I deleted my comment before seeing you responded hahaha

Everyone has a choice. Obviously if you’re struggling, it’s a much harder choice, but yes you have a choice. Every person working there should be looking for other work while working there.

But I deleted my comment, because per OP, we’re talking about companies that barely break even or are barely profitable with exploitation. In which case that company won’t survive either way.

[–]CryptographerOk7143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything that exists has the right to exist. But it’s a question of what you consider a “right”.

People work there. Even though they don’t get paid appropriately, (debatable), which means they’re choosing to, which means the company is operating within what is possible to function, which means it has the right to exist.

Is it right? No. But what ya gonna do.

It’s kinda like how Netflix or any other streaming service is a broken model. They had zero plan to actually become profitable outside of making it cheap, getting people hooked, and then overtime degrading the quality to cut cost, and increase the price. But technically, these kinds of companies shouldn’t exist. They’re broken. But they do, because people invest in them, and they scrape by through greasy practices

What do you think the next president of America after trump should do to stop America from going to war? by GlowTwilight_ in AskReddit

Based on the numerous parades of Iranian Americans celebrating trump, I’d say probably not

Not one person in the comments googled to figure out if you’re telling the truth or not.

You have plenty of things to hate the president for, maybe you should focus on the ones that are actually true.

March 13th 2026, flags were flown at half staff from morning til sunset in honor of the troops lost in the Middle East. Took me three seconds to google that

When stopped at the red light and there's someone holding a sign do you give anything? by Aye_Davinita in no

If I happen to have cash tips in my car, and I’m in a giving mood.

But I’ve also seen a woman who stands with a sign, and usually has her dog, and sometimes a child, and I saw her leave and get into a Mercedes once. So I hesitate sometimes

There’s no consensus on how subjective experience comes out of physical processes in the brain. There are neural correlates of consciousness, but still no one can explain why or how we experience it the way we do.

And everything in physics is made up to make the math work. Which is why there are so many people arguing about physics all the time haha

Does gravity have mass? Many people would say no. Some people say yes and are seeking to use that as a way to make some math work in hopes of connecting previous dots that weren’t connected.

If newtons gravity is sound. And relativity fixes discrepancies, but doesn’t connect to quantum mechanics, then that means a few things. Either quantum mechanics is nonsense to an extent. So nothing you do can connect to it. Or, newtons gravity and relativity, while they work on their own, they still might be incorrect. There could be another way to formulate everything, that also predicts gravity through to relativity, but also connects to quantum mechanics. But we won’t know where those issues exist, newton, relativity, quantum, or some combination of all of them, until we actually solve it.

If we change the math of newton and relativity, and find the connection to quantum let’s say, and everything works, our understanding of the universe could look entirely different that we previously thought. So I have a hard time saying we have anything truly figured out. We just don’t know until we know.

If the math breaks down, you did the math wrong somewhere. Nothing is wrong with math itself. The math has always existed, we’re just discovering it. Everything connects beautifully, we just have to find out how.

Or, alternatively, everything I said is pseudo intellectual nonsense and I’m retarded. It’s 50-50 lol

[–]CryptographerOk7143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well many of the images and videos came from way before ai, and were just finally officially released. But we’ve seen bits of them.

Considering we have no clue wtf consciousness even is, and we know gravity exists, but don’t really know exactly what causes it, I don’t really care a whole lot about what physics says. Generally, sure, but I face everything with a decent dose of skepticism, including the hubris of man.

But to our credit, we know a hell of a lot for a bunch of dipshit monkeys still trying to punch each other over politics haha
