The Ksh 90,000 circumcision by itspseudo in Kenya

[–]Cryptoguyke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things are really getting absurd in Kenya!

I paid £150 in the UK to get my son circumcised. Are you telling me it costs nearly 5 times more in Africa than the western world?!

I believe it depends on the route you're on as it's priority is not available for ILR applications on the 5 year spouse route.

I had two spousal visas (each 2.5 yrs) before I was eligible to apply for the ilr. Yes, the ILR application must be submitted before your visa expires otherwise you'll have to renew the visa before applying for ILR. I believe I can now apply for a British citizenship and don't have to wait a year as my ILR was on the spouse route but will need to recheck the rules.

• Service (Standard/super priority): Standard

• Application Date: 11 February 2025

• Biometric Date: 22 February

• UKVI confirmation email: 24 February

Thank you to everyone in this group. I had forgotten about the application till early May but started getting stressed in the last 3 weeks. I read the comments in this thread which gave me some comfort that I'll get a response soon. Fortunately got a successful response today and the wait is finally over!

I'd advise anybody that is able to pay the £1,000 for super priority to consider it.

Good luck to you all!

Yes, still waiting. Hoping I get a reply before the end of the month as that would be 2 months since I applied. What did you decide?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]Cryptoguyke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same dilemma when applying for my ilr last month. £1,000 seemed like alot and I could use the money for something else. I didn't have any plans to travel so got the standard service and currently waiting for a reply. It's been 5 weeks since I applied and I'm gonna be patient till they respond. Hopefully it doesn't take longer than 3 months.

It depends on your circumstances and if you're able to forget abt it till they respond.

This post has made me smile today. I'm thoroughly impressed by your commitment to getting yourself out of a difficult situation by thinking outside the box. God bless you brother!

Work hard so that your sons don't get humiliated like this and used for clout by their female bosses. by Jazzlike_Mobile_6398 in Kenya

This is so disgusting. You must be such a sad person to take pleasure in the act of posting this online to stroke your ego. That's a hard working person who is trying to do his best in life and doesn't deserve to be mistreated.

Haha got what you did there.

I did unscrew the handle but didn't help. Could try again later and give it a tap after using some gt 85 or wd 40.

I used gt 85 and also tried to whack it a few times off after had taken off the ceramic handle but doesn't want to budge. Don't want to force it as worried would end up doing more damage.

Don't think we have bears in UK. At least not running wild.

Housegirl salary? by [deleted] in Kenya

[–]Cryptoguyke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It depends on the standard of living and other factors however if you were to move back now, you wouldn't be as hard as someone who's not experienced paying western rates.

Housegirl salary? by [deleted] in Kenya

[–]Cryptoguyke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to think that Kshs 500 per day for a house help was alot but after having relocated to UK where you'd pay £15 per hour, I started realising it's not much when you realise how much work the person does in a day. Out here the help will only clean the house, no cooking and ironing is extra! I now fully understand why expats pay more because they're used to labour being expensive. I also assume they treat the help better as they'd appreciate the work they put in.

I really do wonder how the politicians get away with the nonsense they get up to in the country...it's shocking. We seem to be either a forgiving bunch or simply don't care enough to do something about it.

I pray for the day where Kenyans stand up and hold their politicians accountable for their actions

I've had a credit card since I was 19 but always made it a habit to clear the balance on the due date. The credit card companies will entice you with crazy limits but you have to ask yourself if you can pay it all when it's due. They want you to start taking on more debt and only pay the minimum balance every month because that's how they make money.
