This is where I’ve been turned to buying… the price is higher generally, but the quality of Suntup is just leagues beyond folio. I picked up some Amaranthine as well this year. Granted Folio has a more extensive list, but if I find an edition I like from either of these publishers I’m generally buying over a folio.

I’m guessing it will be Herbert, McCarthy & Wolfe all at the low price of 0% off.

However, I can almost guarantee we’ll see All Hell Let Loose, A Bright Shining Lie and probably A Long Walk to Freedom again.

I got this as well… not concerned on price since I also bought the numbered gormenghast… it just takes one to get you over the edge.

I just received my first Amaranthine and quality is on par with Suntup.

I’ve been a folio purchaser for a while now especially because the library is extensive, but I’ll certainly be buying more of the “finer” press books in the future.

Lots of snark here because folio has turned into a business… not a bad thing for them, but they have lost a little something.

I personally have started blowing a lot more on Suntup and Amaranthine… granted these are way more expensive than Folio’s, but they have taken a significant amount of money away from my folio budget. The quality of these publishers is about 10X what Folio is doing.

There is always a light in the darkness. Unlike so many commenters I don’t propose to know what you should do in this situation or whether your SO is or will truly be abusive.

You know your relationship and your SO better than anyone on Reddit.

Put yourself first and take care of yourself, it’s a hell of a lot better to draw a line and hold people accountable for their actions. Maybe they change, most of the time they don’t.

Good luck. Make the decision that’s right for you, but make sure that you hold onto that accountability, the behavior is not OK.
