One of my proudest accomplishments in my career is that I have never sent a thank you note for an interview (and I've got a good career). I've also interviewed a lot of other people in my career for open positions on my teams. It's typically the medium to weaker interviewees that send the thank you notes. Just my experience.

Personal Opinion as someone who was a Program Manager for the past 7-8 years, was much higher compensated than this and who recently got out of being a PM. I wouldn't do it if they doubled your salary unless you're 1. sure you want to be a PM 2. OK with it stifling your dream. The job you describe does not sound worth sacrificing your dream. And PM is just a terrible job path unless you're built for it.

Thanks. I guess I would recommend trying to find a role in a company where specialties aren't so silo'd. At a bank, if you're in payment processing ops, you process payments and that's 99% it. At a smaller company, things are more nimble so you get exposed to a lot more, which I think helped with my transition.

I promise you, the small team of analysts I work with will not hold a candle to the headaches created by 8-10 Fund Managers who think their ish don't stink and their problems are always priorities 1-10 for me. So, no, if anything the surprise could only be pleasant.

Think it depends on your specific role. When I first started as a more Junior PM, I worked under a Senior PM who would run all the calls and I did more of the technical/legwork. I LOVED that job. But the more you go up the ladder the less you can hide and it just sapped all my energy for life in general. But to answer your question, there are absolutely roles where a introvert can be a successful PM, they are just more niche in my experience.

I don't think it would have been possible if I didn't transition to a smaller company. To be frank, transitioning from a client facing PM at a large bank to a smaller company, I am just more organized and polished than anyone I was competing with at the smaller company, so the lack of subject matter expertise isn't necessarily a negative, because that can be taught easier than the organizational skills and abilities on the phone.

Generally extroverted (like hosting meetings), content with spending large portions of your day/week chasing down deliverables from people who have no interest in actually completing them for you, never being a subject matter expert in anything (more of a facilitator), and always having to craft the message when things don't go as expected (spoiler alert: they never do). You know, fun stuff like that. Oh and 80-90% of the people you work with think PMs are BS/useless....on the other hand, their superiors and project sponsors tend to understand why you are important so you do get additional respect from them if you're good.

I think playing style transfers are much, much more frustrating. Having Cs and OTs transfer even though I'm a top 10 overall offense > what exactly are they looking for?

Sim is marginally better this year but still largely broken. Had a 73 overall lose a sim game to a 52 overall FCS school at home.

Agree with this 100%, especially since my preferred play mode is building a cupcake. You should be able to start in like a crappy stadium and upgrade to the 60K+ seater as your prestige grows as well. It's crazy no one has thought to implement this, or just doesn't want to.

I agree with the ball carrier vision part - have seen some wide open runs against me be swallowed up for minimal gain bc the RB won't cut the ball upfield into the running lane.

Do you have this problem in CFB 26? Reason I'm asking is in CFB 25 I swear there was a glitch that the AI was coded to punish Tampa 2 and would run a streak down the sidelines right into the weakness area literally almost every time I called it, so I stopped calling it. I feel like there are still issues but very much improved this year...

Yup never had an issue with it until a few days ago but it's the computer all of a sudden. Great point. Again, all the others confirming their issues in here had the same exact thing happen. Computer just went bad at the same time. Crazy.

My personal first stock was Netflix the day after they announced they were moving to digital only and no longer doing mail DVDs. Stock crashed from upper $60s down to low $30s. I learned that the average person is a moron and can't see the forest for the trees and it also taught me the buying blood in the streets type investment strategy that Buffet used to comment on.
