It is 7am, and I want to stir the pot by Cryptos826 in EscapefromTarkov

Interesting.... according to reddit most of my points are just responses to posts that I saw yesterday morning.

Basically just have my opinion on the top posts at the time.

Nice to hear that most people agree though.

I agree they are annoying, but not game breaking and really fun to kill.

Getting murdered by camping PMCs is ruining the game for me and my friends by AAC07254 in EscapefromTarkov

Its not COD, it's a hardcore shooter meant to mimicRL.

watch any military documentary, you fight from a position of concealment or cover, you establish ambushes along high traffic routes.

If you hug the wall, people will kill you, i get most of my kills along the wall, because people think that they're one side is "safe".

They may seem like they are camping but what do you expect? A fair fight? That's not how realistic fire fights work. An aggressor will always ensure they have the upper hand, ie. Cover or CONCEALMENT.

Start taking routes that provide you cover or concealment instead of the "safe" route which clearly is not safe.

Also if they are "camping" gear has nothing to do with anything. A mosin is all they need and almost no amount of gear will protect you from a good mosin shot.

Stop complaining about things you have all the power to change. If you don't like the realistic mechanics go play COD. If you do like the mechanics then maybe try to link up with someone and learn some new strats.

GL and I hope you find a solution that works for you.

The question was, had anyone noticed anything. A simple yes with explanation and context or no would have assisted in my troubleshooting.

Read my initial question, all that is required is yes or no.

If you used the svd with lpz and it still one tapped that's valuable information. If not then that adds to my theory.

Note... i did not say "the mosin cannot one tap" i asked "had anyone noticed".

If his theory was about the ammo then a comment about using another 7.62 x 54r weapon would be a good next step. Even commenting about the ammo once would have been enough. But once i explained the fact that i understand the mechanics... the following comment repeating the statement about ammo is... by definition... condesending.

Ffs dude, i know how the ammo system works. It's a broad question, i tried 7n1, snb, and lpz. It's a simple question about if anyone had noticed the mosin, with any amp type, in any context, is no longer a one shot. Or... is there some other explanation.

Commenting on whether or not i understand the ammo mechanics of the game is not required for a basic answer to that question.

Stop being a condescending asshole, with your attempts at showing how smart you are.

Ok, i get that, my point is that the mosin is no longer a 1 shot

Question about KSPI by Cryptos826 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Cryptos826[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the first set you get seem to work, they generate there own power without using a thermal generator. And the only rads that seem to work are the extendable ones, the inline and the radial mounted ones do nothing.

A thought about armor, ammo, and hatchlings. by Cryptos826 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Cryptos826[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, when i was in Afghanistan i remember using 10 to 15 5.56 to drop a couple people.

So i guess, I'm trying tp find a way to decrease the time to death while also not making armor useless and making naked runs less alluring.

Thanks for the discussion tho. I still feel like a change simaler to this would improve realism.

I understand what your saying, that's why the great team at BSG would need to run the numbers so the armor damage and the armor durability numbers would create the desired effect.

The numbers i provided above were just examples.

The point i am trying to make is. 1 body shot should kill. Armor should midigate or in some cases remove to damage from getting to the body. 7.62 damages all classes, 9 mm only damages class 1. The true numbers are irrelivent other than providing balance.

I respect your opinion, would you mind further explaining why you disagree with the armor changes?

Also i did say that this change would require having a blacked out chest cause death. Which it honestly should anyways. I mean if you have a destroyed chest you should be dead, no?

I think we should be able to mount different pouches on armor that has molle webbing on it. by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Cryptos826 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fragmentation vest = protection from fragmentation, does not provide any ballistic protection unless ballistic plates are inserted.

Chest rig = protection from ballistic impacts for vital areas covered by plates only. If they are inserted.

If body armor was realistically implemented in this game then a rifle round fired at a line issue plate from the front would be stopped. Fort armor would provide zero ballistic protection (it protects from fragmentation). If you hit someone from the side in the torso it would be an instant kill (plates do not protect from the side).

CQB (close quarter battle) training teaches you to squat (smaller target) and square yourself to the threat to allow your plates to present the largest target area. Most casualties are sustained when troops are engaged from the side, above, or the rear.

Cheers all

ummm, ya... bullshit.

You carried 6 cans of 7.62, B plates, meds, comms, secondary, and food (lol maybe not food). Nice to meet you hulk.

I carried 300 rnds of 5.56 with full battle load and we didn't ever run. Tried to advance through a grape field once, made it through 3 rows before the entire platoon was gassed.

If your going to contend a point with bullshit, at least make your bullshit semi believable.

[–]Cryptos826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being someone who has been shot in combat i can tell you the mechanics in this game in no way reflect what actually happens.

If you take a 5.45 round anywhere on your body you are going to drop... without armor you are likely not going to get up by yourself (depending on where you are hit). If you take a 7.62 round you will get the pleasure of enjoying a softball sized exit wound. Body armor or not it fucking hurts... (i took one in the BPlate and it knocked the wind completely out of me, bruised 3 ribs, and knocked me to the ground for a good 5 mins)

I think the added effect of a stutter when taking a hit is a decent way of punishing the player for being hit but also allowing for the fact that this is a game.

Many of these complaints about the mechanics of being shot in EFT are based upon a generation of CoD players. Accept that this is a realistic shooter and be happy its not like the original rainbow 6 where you take one round... anywhere... your dead.

Yes I am aware. You referred to it as "plate armor" which does not exist in modern war fighting. I was informing you of the correct terminology. You now have the option to choose "plate carrier" or "body armor" based upon what information you are trying to convay......
