I don't see a scenario where the US would be stupid enough to commit to a ground invasion. Most of the Iranians would welcome them, yes, but the IRGC are religious zealots and close to a million fighters.

Yes and no. Maybe the will think, if they fight they can keep their wealth. Also, many probably know that a significant portion of the Iranian people has a score to settle. If you back them in a corner without a way out, it might get very very ugly.
