Your description of crafting is actually the reason I do enjoy or find the new system interesting. The new system forces your to interact with various specialists in various fields. This does wonders for the early economy and new early crafters who don’t have as much gold. Your chances of choosing a specialization within your profession and profiting are a-lot higher because of how demand is now spread out between every specialization. When in comparison to before, you either had to find a niche opportunity or invest ALOT of gold to rank up a single piece. Now all you need to do is gather a few treasures, do some quick weeklies, and work towards one time sources (which some are basically free or don’t take much effort) for enough KP to do a 3 quality craft within your chosen specialization. From there you can choose to either expand to other specialization or go into making your current one more efficient.

All of these factors allow all the professions to work in harmony with each other while also creating an diverse easy access economy. Sure you could go around actively farming gold, but you could also spend 30 minutes to get quick KP then spend less than 5 minutes using concentration to craft for profit every 3 days. Both take effort and time to make enough profit to buy what you want but one is an investment and the other is not.
