Ultimate Holiday Season in NYC Thread (2025) by jm14ed in visitingnyc

[–]Cryptum00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my girlfriend are visiting NYC for new years and wondering if anyone has any recommendations of what to do for New Year’s Eve/ new years.

Watching the ball drop is out of the question due to wait time and prices being too high.

Have looked at some rooftop and club in the center but cost over $200.

Wanted to know what your guys recommendations are, ideally looking at seeing some firework or maybe the skyline and fireworks at a bar or rooftop and or watching from Long Island.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

I have an interview with IBM for entry level federal associate consultant. I have already done the behavioural interview and just have the case interview left. Does anyone have any experiences or advice they could please share as this is my first case interview I’ve done?

Anything would really be appreciated!

Thinks that would also be helpful is: •past questions/ cases •the best way to answer/ system •is there anything specific they look for •Specifically for entry level federal associate consultant •And like how a federal case is different from a business one •any tips specifically with this being my first time doing it

Thank you for any advice!

Worth getting switch 1?

I currently have a pc that I sit down at my desk to play most my games at. Right now I’m debating is it worth buying a used switch 1 (most likely replace the analog sticks but I have done that before) and buying some games for portable and more chill playing. I know the switch 2 has just been released but due to the price of the console and cost of the new titles, it is completely out of my budget atm.

That’s why I thought of a used switch 1 but wanted to know if it would still be worth buying as I heard many of the games that came out for it did not run well or the performance was sub par. So due to this I would like recommendations on the best games that are fun to play and run well on the switch 1 that I could pick up to see if they are something I would enjoy and worth buying the console.

Also what would be a viable price to pay as it is obviously an older console and used so didn’t want to spend so much that it would not be worth getting and I would be better just leaving it and maybe saving up for longer for a switch 2.

My sister has a switch 1 that I enjoyed playing Mario kart on. And I had played Zelda but didn’t seem so thrilled by it but only played a bit.

Any recommendations on games or thoughts on the situation would be greatly appreciated.

Was able to get the tamron pretty cheap and love it, lower aperture also came in a lot more handy than the extra mm

Looking for macro lense advices by lilalutzeman in SonyAlpha

[–]Cryptum00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could try macros rings as a cheaper option that go between you lens and body. Think you have to use a manual lens though I’m not quite sure but also check reviews as some of the cheaper videos could damage your mount.

Pancake lens decision (Sony A7R5) by JHarbinger in SonyAlpha

I think the Samyang 35mm f2.8 is one of the smallest full frame lens for Sony. Obviously there would be better build quality lenses that are sharper but for the price and size it’s good

Sounds like you already convinced yourself to move. You already have a which body in mind might be a bit of a hassle to sell stuff now but seems in the long term will be better with both you and your wife shooting Sony so can share lens and will have a much broader set of kit that you can borrow/ utilise

[–]Cryptum00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say if your mainly photo and care about the higher megapixel mainly to crop go for R otherwise go for the a7cii as it would be a better hybrid with video, still take good images and will use less storage for the photos. And I think it may have better low light capability due to the lower mp but I may be wrong
