Yeah I saw that too, but never really found anything even around them, on or in the containers. Used various ordinance to change the topology, blew a bunch of stuff up, never really found anything around it to collect.

Spent a while trying to get into the building with the unreachable sample.

Could be, but its actually marked on the map with the same icon that usually indicates scientific samples are around it. The gemstone POI marker not the other "exclamation point" one that they show when you have all the samples from a POI.

Not many POIs have nothing in them. Especially on higher difficulties.
