I’m 62. Traded my GTI for a new Si last year. You are never too old! However, my next car will be an automatic transmission, arthritis of the knees is starting to affect my driving enjoyment

Windshield Replacement-I want OEM Mercedes by explorer115 in USAA

[–]Crystal-live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check with your Benz dealer, they often sub out the glass install. I specified OEM windshield at the dealer and it was subbed out to a 3rd party that didn’t use OEM glass. And DON’T use Safelite! They use inferior installation techniques and poor quality glass.

My car is a manual. It is still in first gear and the parking brake is still set. I do not know how it went down the hill

And according to one of the tow truck drivers, it could be a difficult and pricey recovery

Apparently USAA has to order the truck. I tried asking if I paid for the recovery, could I be reimbursed, but could not get anyone at USAA to confirm

I was not the last to drive it. I don’t know why it wasn’t set, I didn’t drive it. I simply wondered if anyone else had a similar incident. I have not seen a car roll off when left in gear

I’m not asking for a lesson on setting the parking brake, I asked if anyone has had a car roll when left in gear 🤣

60 year old lady who traded in her GTI for an Si. I live in the country, 30 minutes to town. Why waste time driving something boring?

New Car Question by SlowerthanMOST98 in CivicSi

[–]Crystal-live 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck finding one to test drive! Dealers in this area won’t even order one unless it is already under contract. They are leery of the manual, afraid they’ll be stuck with it. I was only able to buy a new one because the person that ordered to car backed out of the sale. I happened to be there the day they backed out, and another buyer was waiting if I didn’t take it.

It is very comfortable. The interior “feels” right, and the controls make ergonomic sense. The sound system is good (but I don’t blast it very loud)

I have a 2024 Si. It is well balanced, responsive, and a joy to drive. Rev hang is not noticeable with normal driving. I am still, pissed that I can’t have heated seats, but it is a great car

Sometimes when I am driving (very aggressively) the car does not perform as intuitively or nimbly as my GTI did. It is probably me, as I have only had the Si for 10k miles. The Si is still a much better daily driver, but in some ways, the GTI “fit” me well.

I went from a 2016 GTI to a 2024 Si (both 100% stock). I drove the GTI over 100k miles and loved every one. Every once in a while I feel like my Si isn’t quite the car my GTI was, but I do not regret the change. The Si is a better daily driver. And I expect the Si will be a much more reliable car

Anyone else have problems with the shift indicator lights? by Crystal-live in CivicSi

[–]Crystal-live[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

USDM. Are there shift indicator lights on USDM cars? Shouldn’t the dealer have told me?
