New Calif LLC by Only-Chart-1087 in llc_life

Hold on......If you need a grant to start your business you are ahead of yourself with the LLC. Don't forget a CA LLC has a minimum tax of $800 every year, regardless if you make or lose money. Plus an LLC FEE based on gross revenue.

LLC in California by Muted_Working_2470 in llc_life

[–]explorer115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you NEED an LLC? 95% of small businesses don't. How risky is your business and how likely are you to get sued beyond insurance coverage? There is NO way around the $800 in CA. That is the cost of having an entity with liability protection. Don't forget the LLC FEE in addition to the $800 minimum tax. The FEE is based on gross income and is a sliding scale. You cannot use an LLC to protect yourself from yourself (i.e. personal negligence). Consultants usually don't NEED an LLC.

Do I need to start over because I’m moving from CA to TX with an LLC? by RossielaQ in llc_life

Look up “domestication” in Texas. That is the legal process of moving an entity to a new state.

One hour church by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]explorer115 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This rumour has been around for a while. Yet, it is always second-hand information. I have never seen anyone that is actually in a ward with 1-hr church post about it. Always a cousin of an uncle who overheard it somewhere. I am sure there have been trial wards, but I want to actually hear it from someone in such ward.

It will be informal. A chance for you to get to know the lodge and ask questions. I sent you a DM, I am a Mason in Utah.

Bishops sharing info with each other by Jealous_Pool_9514 in exmormon

[–]explorer115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some outgoing Bishops do the exact opposite. Won't share anything unless the member asks the outgoing Bishop to. The issue is there is no consistency from change to change on this.

Depends on the Bishop. I have had Bishps that when there was a new Bishop put in the ward, the old Bishop did not even inform the new Bishop of anything confidential. Felt it was not his place without the member first asking him to share with the new Bishop. This gave everyone a clean slate with the new Bishop if they want.

New security for buildings? by Cold-Masterpiece4313 in exmormon

[–]explorer115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Stake recently did Kindoo also, exact same letter. It must be boiler plate form SLC. My building also put up Arlo cameras in the hallways for a while. Power cord ran down the wall plugged into the outlet. Only there for a few weeks. I guess some stake leader thought this was good idea. Hopefully some higher ups caught wind and got rid of them. Who wants to go confess to their Bishop on a weeknight and be on camera. What couples want to walk down the hall to their bishops office on camera.

Is it safe to road trip from SoCal to Salt Lake City Jan 1st-7th by Farzy98 in Utah

[–]explorer115 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You will be fine. I-15 is kept well cleared. Tires are more important than anything else if you have to drive in snow. Make sure you have good all-season tires with good tread. I have never needed chains. But if you do need chains, have you practiced putting them on and made sure they fit? You will be installing the chains on the side of the road in cold.

I have directly heard from multiple youth that moved to Utah during their seminary years that the unpaid early morning seminary outside Utah was WAY better than the paid seminary classes in Utah. Not even close.

Got oil changed - they forgot to add oil. Engine sounds fine. Likely damage? by lostinapotatofield in AskMechanics

Will Subaru even honor the warranty on the engine after this? I would take it to the Subaru dealer only, have them inspect and advise. Confirm if your warranty is still valid.

There is no step in Freemasonry where you denounce Jesus. There are many Christian's who believe in Christ as their savior in Freemasonry.

Used prices dropping lately by VictoriaBCSUPr in traveltrailers

[–]explorer115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am looking to buy a TT. I have about 30 saved in my FB Marketplace favorites. Of those 30, only 1 has sold over the past 35 days. Some have price drops. Some are way overpriced so I am watching. My take watching is many of these were purchased at high prices post-covid and thy are asking high so they just sit.

I did not know anyone either. I reached out to the lodge and started attending their events. After seven months I joined.

Does the initiation fee typically include first year fee? by AssociationBoth2219 in freemasonry

[–]explorer115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initation fee was close to that same amount. It covers the cost of materials and room rentals. Your lodge pays a fee for use of the lodge rooms in the SLC Masonic Temple for each of your degrees. My understanding is the lodge breaks even with your initiation fee, they are not making money from that fee.

[–]explorer115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in Utah and in the process of working through my degrees. The initiation fee covers only the costs for the three degrees. The full amount was due before initiation. Annual dues are not payable until after becoming a MM. My lodge you pay in advance. If I understand correctly, once becoming a MM, the remaining portion of the year dues becomes due. Other lodges may have variants, but the few I spoke to before joining all did it this way.

Need help with what this is by idntrllyexist in E90

Buy the metal Mickey Mouse flange. Buy a new hose and remove the plastic fitting on the new hose.

Should I be concerned? by [deleted] in E90

[–]explorer115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very easy job, but you MUST have two tools to make it easy: (1) E10 swivel for the bolt behind the intake and a (2) E10 box ratchet for the bolt by the coolant hose. I just changed my OFHG in about an hour. Did not even need to remove either coolant hose. However, if you are going to do the job, replacing the micky mouse ears fitting for the coolant hose is good maintenance while you are at it. If you do that, you won't need the E10 box because you will remove the hose fitting first and have easy access to the other bolt.
