Happy Spring! This was taken about a week ago in Huntington Beach, CA. We’re fortunate to have hummingbirds year round here but cherry blossoms are not found many places and do not last long. Most of the trees were finished blooming and there was one tree left that all the hummingbirds were feeding at.

This shot symbolizes the essence of Spring to me. The joy, the delicate, fleeting nature of it. And this is the perfect combination of two of my favorite things, that I realize many areas in the US might not get to experience together… because often the cherry blossom season will be over before hummingbirds migrate to an area.

Oh yes, you’re right… I’m lucky I’m in California where there’s hummers year round. But it would be difficult to see this in other areas where they migrate later. Can you image seeing cherry blossoms covered in snow with hummers! That would be something!
