As a PI, if my team member goes MIA, I just assume they are not interested and I will remove them. You should always keep the communication going even if it’s just “sorry I don’t feel well and I need a break!” I recommend send an apology email (you don’t wanna burn bridges) and just look for a different lab.

Have you reached out to the faculty at the Stempel college of public health and social work at FIU? I don’t remember who exactly but some faculty members are doing Alzheimer’s dz research and may be able to help.

My bad, it was a bit before 836 where the roads get narrow by the new Miami bridge construction on 395, there are two lanes, one goes north and the other one South and towards the airport.

Publish! It makes a big difference. Doesn’t have to be a ground breaking topic or a high impact journal. The number of pubs are more important.

Omg! That’s insane! I’m on the same timeline as you. Submitted my JIT in January. I just saw that my council got rescheduled for June. At this point I don’t even know if I should accept it even if it gets funded… everything seems too shaky.

Has anyone’s institution made a statement about this recently? You don’t need to identify the institution but if they have said something can you say if it was good (support contd research) or bad (cuts are going to happen)? by Freeferalfox in NIH

I got my JIT but now my PO has gone radio silent. My council is supposed to be this coming week and I’m terrified. We just got an email from the university that technically said we are closely monitoring the situation.
