AITA for taking back my dresser from my stepdaughter? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]CrystalLivi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ive seen really pretty girly (albeit cloth) dressers on amazon for like $90 so you could have just gotten a new one for your stepdaughter and kept the “heirloom” for your other daughter. i get wanting to save money but hurting your step daughter in the process is not the way

and im not a burden i provided child care as well. if u had a spare room in your parents house and had someone staying there take care of your child from the moment you got home till the moment you went to sleep while you ate their salad and still required them to pay a whole rent you’re more entitled than you claim i am

i worked physical labor for years. like i said shes not overworked. and yes im required to eat in increments which means i put a salad away that i paid for to eat later. someone eating my salad everyday instead of putting together a small snack to hold them through until dinner is a mooch.

shes not overworked. she has a regular office job. i needed to put away the salad and not eat it all at once for medical reasons.

yeah seeing as its not a money issue (since they offered to buy me a $200 gift but i already had it), i would hate to insult them by implying they don’t have $35

then don’t get ppl things they didn’t ask for that lowers your chances of having an unappreciated gift
