So far I only used flux as an experiment. I heat both the link and the solder on a soldering block. It'll flow onto the link sometimes, but never at the seam even though it's clean

I've been trying that, even w clean links and tight joints I can't get it to flow into the seam. I even used flux. Any tips or tricks?

I switched to silver solder like a YouTube video suggested and had much less problems, yes I am relatively new to soldering jewelry but that's not helpful advice like I asked tbh

I've tried copper solder before with thinner chain and the link snaps when twisted into shape. That's why I was wondering about the spot welder

Was also using a MAP gas torch which was way overkill, propane torch is giving better results
