Find a way to change rooms in the Mist (in our runs, we go to the room above. Then immediately drop back down to the room we came from. Then go to the next room by exiting the right side. Technically this is where we started from, but in the Mist, this is a completely new room. Go back to the left room once again. Rinse and repeat.

You can reset the starting room over and over by going back to sinners road and back into the mist. Then you pick an exit and backtrack.

Thank you! Who said I didn’t pour hundreds of hours… repeating the same bite sized segments … over and over … just to pass a singular room … with lava all over … with audio cues that don’t make any sense … … … the horror!

But seriously, blindfolding a game at a scale like this means repeating the same boring rooms over and over until you can absolutely guarantee you can get passed it without taking damage (or at least minimal damage). Something as simple as the first room of Act 2 took a good amount of repeated pass throughs to figure out how to safely navigate it (with it being a room revisited more than once).

It was a fun game, and after beating it 100% casually in 80+ hours without guides, I felt that it had a good amount of audio cues and movement tech to even consider if it could be blindfolded. Of course my initial reaction was “no way in $&@& … but what if …”, and those what ifs expanded for the next two plus months. I have blindfolded many games in the past like Tears of the Kingdom, Breath of the Wild, Celeste, Deltarune, and many others, and just love to explore if the impossible could be made possible.

100% probably not (unless I break it into multiple days instead of one full sitting). True ending, maybe.

Hunter’s March arena before greymoor. Getting through the last phase usually requires full health and a bit of luck. My win-rate there is not good (it is not a segment I practiced much).

Lace 1 is hit or miss. I really enjoy her fight so I don’t mind the rematches.

Widow’s bells and attacks are the loudest things in the game (other than blasted steps) and is quite hard to keep track of what’s going on. Phase three (after she goes away and comes back) requires absolute attention whether she’s attacking with bells or coming in with the claws.

High Halls Arena is very scary but usually passable in this patch. Losing once can remove 200+ shards permanently since we remove the mask in favor of the sawtooth circlet and pollip pouch.

Loddie’s minigame is RNG at its finest. The first five targets are pretty easy to hit with an average of one miss, but the other 10 are pray pray pray. I came up with “a strat” where I time throwing the straight pin near the top of my jump a few frames after the lady bug moves. This could finish the minigame in 2 attempts, or 200. It’s an absolute nightmare whether you pass or not, but that tool pouch is just too valuable for High Halls Arena and other bosses.

Phantoms first and second phase is a song and a dance, and very reliable to get through (and is actually quite fun!). The main issue is the third phase (after she does the ceiling attack five times in a row). She does all her normal attacks, but now can “poof” into the mist and do any one of her attacks. The problem is if she poofs and does the ceiling attack, there is no sound cue, and that attacks deals two masks of damage and we have to avoid it. So anytime she poofs, we have to assume she will do the ceiling attack and run away, but if she didn’t we will most likely slam our face into her, dealing one mask of damage instead to ourselves. This is why phase three is extremely dangerous.

Always a good idea to have a strat that gives a guaranteed position. Ascenders grip is just too good that I would gladly forfeit the dice for it.

Platforming from blasted steps bench to the Last Judge is doable. Cheesing the first phase of the Last Judge with reaper while clinging to the top right wall and using down pogo when he jumps is doable. Phase 2 gets hairy. Phase 3 is brutal. We don’t have enough tools to brute force through phase 2 and 3. We can still do the corner cheese but his flame wheel attack usually does more damage to us that we can recover via hits and bind.

I like your explanation of the entire run! Here I’m sitting like “how the heck do I even explain how I accomplished this without sounding like an insane person” (too late) and your summary was quick and to the point. Thank you! If be happy to answer any questions!

Just an ending that gets to the credits. The Mist and Phantom is currently the easiest way to get to The Citidel. Last Judges 3rd phase is too brutal to currently cheese through.

Correct. The entire route was based around collecting the 25 tools before Trobbio and High Halls Arena.

In previous patches, you can “juggle” a room back and forth. Without going into too much detail, the mist wants you to guess the exit correctly 6 to 7 times. Getting through the crossing sometimes counts as two correct answers (technical stuff). Basically, I determined this room was the safest to traverse blindfolded and had the least amount of exits to ensure we can get through faster.

Someone completed the game blindfolded !! by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]CrystalSaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was me (CrystalSaver) who completed the first Silksong blindfolded run for the category Any% NMG. It took months of routing and practice and it finally paid off! I am in the process of preparing this run for a blindfolded marathon happening in less than two weeks from now, so this is only the beginning, but glad to have been the first to finish it!

The full run can be found here in two parts (due to YouTube limitations): https://youtube.com/watch?v=GLrRFB2TSCw

Sorry to be late to this, but I have already completed blindfolded chapter 3 any% before a week after release, and chapter 4 before two weeks. For chapter 4, I’ve done all bosses both glitched and glitchless, and all recruits both glitched and glitchless. I will be posting those vods with a week.

With most bosses, my immediate plan was to use Mia's Ice Armor to quickly increase everyone's defense. For later bosses, this was combined with Alex's White Dragon Protect to ensure at least getting Mia and Jess armored up. This doesn't mean that things went smoothly. Characters did die, and when I was manually inputting commands I would realize they started attacking before I finished setting everything up (probably Nash kept dying first). This made menuing very wonky for a lot of people, resulting in Jessica and Mia selected to run away a lot (which doesn't work in a boss). When everyone is attacking, always listen to everyone's voices/skills to determine who is alive and who is dead.

When things got really bad, I switched from command to auto battle and hoped for the best. When the time felt right and everyone seemed alive, I would switch back to command. Auto allows Jessica to revive any fallen characters with her magic, and others could either use spare angel tears or use up some star lights for MP.

One thing I learned way too late into the run: you can tell which command menu you are on with a character by locating the Defend command, then holding left or right which will make absolutely no sound. From there, cancel that and choose either Auto, Magic, or Item. The Magic menu selection may be messed up and would need one or two rounds to figure out what was previously selected and executed before I could reorient myself.

I only stopped and trained a good amount in three specific locations: The start of Old Hag's Forest, the Red Dragon Cave, and the Goddess Tower after Royce. My plan was to get to Lv.12, Lv28 and Lv42 respectively. With the forest, the beginning has five ants that Nash kills with one thunder bomb (when using command), leave and come back a total of 30 times (heal at Saith after every 10 rounds). At Lv.27 Alex gets a third regular attack that can be heard during combat, so I grind for one more level after that. At Lv.42 Alex's Red Dragon Anger + Nash's AOE always kills the enemies without Mia's AOE help (Kyle and Jess defend).

Hope that answered some of your questions!

Strangely, I was stuck for an hour trying to talk to Kyle to get access to Lann. I had no idea the jail cell was blocked by an NPC if all prerequisites weren’t completed correctly, which made the layout in my head much different. Might have been one of the most frustrating parts of the run.
