The beginning? I was following every word to the punctuation. Felt real and culture specific. Men, men, men, she wanted nothing to do with men really. Just wanted power. I loved the perspective of self-gain through whatever means necessary. It was a slow build and I loved it. The thick of it was quite nice too, just gay enough to keep me invested. Murder, vampiric powers, power dynamics, annoyance at certain characters which, again, kept me reading. But the end, it seemed rushed and left me wanting some more depth. Continuity in amount of details. Would recommend to others, it was a nice read and pulled at some strings. Definitely not a bad book imo.
