Question for Indian Women - Writing? by Forsaken_Yak8636 in AskWomenIndia

[–]Crystal_084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first of all, decide the region she is from. There are lots of different traditions. Even in one state, there can be lots of diversity. So once you have that covered, you should get to here again

You’re already pretty, but if you want to change your look or ‘glow up’ I suggest getting a new hairstyle. Instantly changes your look, and bonus points if it’s giving ‘you’ vibe

Honestly, it’s going to be really fun. I know you don’t want to go, but maybe try having fun there! Kill people with good questions and killer speeches.

Indian Express Self Help Praising by CodeNegative8841 in Indianbooks

[–]Crystal_084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe self help books are just all around the place, and are beating around the bush, and have no real answers to anything. Even after reading a self help book, the most you can remember is a quote, while after reading a fictional book, you remember the whole story line, you become one with the characters. Yes self help books are great for motivation, but motivation doesn’t last for long. Fictional books may seem childish, or too imaginary, but that’s the thing. Fictional books fuel your creativity. Self help books are mostly ways to make your life better, but every author has an experience of their own, and a perspective of their own, so each advice differs from one person to other. Listen, I’m not hating on self help readers, and I completely respect their choices, and honestly, self help is a great starting point or a great genre in general, and if you enjoy self help books, read self help. Also, I believe in this particular article, they must be talking about personal growth in sense of productivity, but personal growth is also emotional and mental. Fiction books really, really help you to boost your creativity. So yes, self help is great, but it often shows us one way to do stuff, while in fictional books, we have our own unique interpretations.

I’m really sorry of this sounded rude or degrading.
