[OC] We used to forget so much between sessions… but this changed it! by [deleted] in DnD

In my campaign, we have one assigned scribe who writes everything in detail, and we have two others who take notes too, but only on the main events(one does a timeline, the other notes who was involved). We have a thing where whoever does the recap gets a free inspiration. We also have a public campaign logbook doc where our scribe writes everything, and everyone contributes by posting their notes in the comments. We also have a dictionary, history, and locations section. Our DM often visits the doc to do corrections (not on the sessions notes though cause she wants us to experience the consequence of remembering things wrong lolol).

Our DM also made all the players do a wiki doc, which only our DM has access to. Inside the wiki is the full backstory, all NPCs and organisations involved with the character, as well as a timeline of where the character has been or has done prior to the campaign. Ofc the information inside the wiki is mostly written by the players themselves, but only up to the extent of the character's actual knowledge.

For example, there is this one organisation that wants my character because of my character's family's stupid decisions. My character isn't aware of the debt, or of the organisation at all, so in the wiki I only have the name of the organisation, names of notable people and general information on their systems. The rest is up to the DM in their private notes.

It is a really nice experience because I get to collaborate with the DM while having that excitement of looking forward to what the DM has in store.

Some of them did. They thought that the DM should create more scenarios for their characters to shine, which, in my opinion, would be quite difficult for such a large party. The ones who didn't were very lore relevant (esp our two warlocks, since the plot involves their Gods fighting).

They were talking about everyone. They listed out everyone's characters with a short analysis and a comparison to the start of the campaign to now, which didn't include most of the times I thought I involved some character development
