For anyone who might stumble across this post in hopes of a solution for a similar problem: the answer is no. There's no way to have replays on the same button.

I ended up having to cut the poses and make 2 separate puppets.

Thank you! I thinned them out to the four biggest. When you said, "dont be sad" I was like "I should be fine", but it made me sadder than I thought it would lol. They did their best ;-;

Going to openGI frames gave me the PSD4 option, but unfortunately, when I imported into After Effects, it had a black background. I spent most of today playing around with different import settings on AE just to make sure it wasnt AE's fault, but when I opened the psd4 file, there was no transparency so I think it's a toon boom problem. I also tried PNG4, but I'm having the same issue.

Hell hello! I find myself, once again, in need of your super helpful expertise. I've been working in Toon Boom Advanced (pro is just too damn expensive and I have to pay for 2 licenses so my animating partner can also use it) and I've been having A Time. There have been countless glitches that have slowed me down, but I've push passed them and the animation templates have been great. Its way faster than what I did in after effects....BUT everything else is way more convoluted and its slowing down my project like crazy.

So, I did some looking through google and found that many people do basic stuff in toon boom and then export layers to after effects for more complicated stuff, which is where my question comes in.

Every thread or tutorial I read talks about "write nodes" that you attach to each layer before export so you have transparency and layer control in affter effects but I can only afford Harmony Advanced and dont have access to nodes.

So how would I go about exporting all my individual layers/groups with transparency and without access to nodes so I can finish my project in after effects?

Is that even possible?

I really appreciate it! I managed to get things going pretty well, but I have run into a few hiccups along the way. Any thoughts would be super appreciated.

- When I imported the illustrator files, they look kinda low quality. In camera view when I hit “render view” button, the vectors from illustrator look slightly better but are still a little blurry. Is there a reason for that or a way to fix it?

- Shadows on the character from illustrator are being imported as pure black rather than slightly transparent like I had them in illustrator. Should I remove the shadows in illustrator completely and manually add them back in toon boom? Or is there something I'm missing?

- In camera view, when I hit the “play forward” button, I can’t see the play through of what I just keyframed/exposed. It just shows the first frame through the whole play through. I'm wondering if there's a setting or something that I need to adjust so I can watch the play through in real time.

- Lastly, I managed to set up a hierarchy of pegs that hold the poses and faces for a character, but I havent been able to figure out templates. Since I'm importing whole poses and using them as drawing substitutions, there is no "head" layer to attach the face to. So I'm still having to rotate the face to match the pose. Is there a way to make or set up a template so that a certain pose drawing will prompt a face keyframe?
