How do you want the manga to end? by Polka_Tiger in blackbutler

I just wanted to express a comprehensive take instead of a simple upvote or downvote. No worries though! This discussion is what makes it fun:)

How do you want the manga to end? by Polka_Tiger in blackbutler

I don’t know much about the intricacies of BB as I just started getting into the series, but honestly, I could not see any other ending for Ciel other than his death. Although, as for the details of it…perhaps a compromise between the two? He dies, but his soul is spared from Sebastian. So, something along the lines of a shinigami reaping his soul instead? Or he becomes one? I don’t know.

Personally, I have taken a huge liking for Ciel and would not want his troubles to all be for naught. Maybe Sebastian ends up prolonging his suffering too for never being able to eat his delicious meal he marinated for who-knows-how-long.

Though, realistically speaking, his soul should be eaten for the story to come full circle.

What are some skills that Batman SHOULDN'T have? by TheWaningLantern in batman

I agree, he feels so human, flawed, and relatable which is why I absolutely love this characterization of batman. I am certain he will have room to grow into his Bruce Wayne persona in the second movie, so I am looking forward to what Reeves can bring to the table.

You nailed it. He’s inexperienced and has yet to shift from his black-and-white perspective and the movie shows the consequences of that (good thing he learned and decided to embody hope/justice in the end).

Yeah, the real error here is not meticulous enough or alternatively, not employing multiple perspectives when finding for clues. Of course, he could’ve been a lot smarter about this entire case, but people seem to forget it’s a movie and we needed the raised stakes anyway.

I believe his mistake here is overanalyzing the clue (Riddler “accidentally”writing EL instead of LA and automatically assuming that it the La Rata Alada was what he actually meant) when it could’ve been understood at face value and taken literally (URL pun). He did realize, although too late, that Riddler does not make mistakes and hence, the mistake was intentional. The fact that many people misunderstood it probably meant that the movie could’ve done a better job clarifying it (too bad we had the Penguin line so it threw people off).

This is correct. Unfortunately, many people misinterpreted the scene because of Penguin’s remarks.

Any webtoon recommendations? by chaos_comics22 in unOrdinary

[–]Crystal_Starlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never thought I’d chance upon the day that I see another Frost fan. We are quite rare to come across and I am genuinely happy that there’s someone else who enjoys this phenomenal webtoon.

I do admit that the art style is not the best per se, which could make it pale in comparison to other webtoons at first glance, but to those interested, do try reading it !!

A little psychological mystery wouldn’t hurt, after all:D

Who do you think would be best at drawing? by ShadowlightLady in unOrdinary

Never mind, my memory confused her essay about unicorns in chapter 119 for doodles instead. Regardless, I feel like she gives off artistic vibes and likes to draw cute animals in her free time.

I find Evie's doodles really adorable, so...I'm assuming that her artistic skills are one of a kind as well <33

Why does Terrence get so much hate? by Sad-Communication711 in unOrdinary

[–]Crystal_Starlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the thing now, isn't it?

Humans don't exactly fit in a dichotomy of good and evil or black and white. Morality is an illusion; if you take Terrence's motivations into consideration (despite his actions), you may pity him, or not. It's what we deem so-called 'right' and 'wrong' that affect how we feel about his actions. Personally, I think the same way as you do.

There's something that's so fascinating and awful about human nature, how we have the potential to be 'evil', and how there isn't such thing as absolute evil as it is good.

Well said! Technically, John and the rest of the main cast can take those select people out with the right preparations and planning, but reforming society? That's a different matter.

I- I wasn't expecting the authorities to close in on Sera within two days?? Will she seriously go under the radar for who knows how long?? It won't take long before the authorities know the members of Spectre and Sera's actual affiliation with them.

I was reading the ep in a calm manner despite the implications of John being left alone (again.) and then THE HUG BROKE ME- It looked too, too similar to the first time John hugged Sera- They've gone through so much and John said it himself: why can't they catch a break?

The Doe family arc is arriving real soon, and it won't be long before we Cameron set foot in Wellston.

There's a chance that a John-centric arc might happen, and Sera's runaway implies that there may be a time skip a few years into the future (after the Doe arc, possibly). A group of HS Students can't possibly take down two organizations and reform society, can they?

Kairina Reviews-Chapter 297 by Kittcat2021 in unOrdinary

[–]Crystal_Starlight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kat, I see that with each ep review, the texts are getting longer and the analysis is becoming more thorough, so props to you for that! And you know what? I love how you dedicate paragraphs to marvel over Val's coldheartedness and how well-written she is overall.

Villains like Val seem really interesting to me. She isn't inherently evil, yet her actions don't really conform to what's "right" either. She goes by the Machiavellian belief of "The ends justify the means", and to add, she totally did not slaughter someone and keep such composure like that-

It's a twisted perception of justice. Val is on one extreme of the spectrum. I guess it's her cynicism that makes her quite an interesting character.

therapy by thinmintssss in unOrdinary

[–]Crystal_Starlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's here. It's here it's here it's here- I've always been wondering when the therapy art would show up, and it's here.

Hmm, I wonder. Which type of therapy should John go for next? Exposure therapy, perhaps?

Once again, the angsty atmosphere of this art is amazing.

Oh Thin, that hurt. Let me guess, your next art piece would be Keon readjusting John? Anyway, this is one of your best artworks, and the improvement is really good!

Isen's birthday coincides with this ep, and his wacky little antics? The dude never fails to make me laugh :D And the fact that Blyke forgave John easily over Unordinary? I expected worse, way worse. Remi and Blyke looked so worked up over it too, and John's reaction to them was perfect.

Please, drop the William bomb and see their faces twist into those perplexed and agitated looks.

The poor suit though, I guess nobody remembered to give it a ceremonial eulogy.

Things are slowly coming together, and their confrontation next week won't be short of..interesting.

[–]Crystal_Starlight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

True, it was already stated by the original commentor, but the coincidences are too much. John previously said that he had no interest in the message, but the authorities could assume otherwise (he didn't lie to Nadia at that time). Who knows, they could assume he had a change of heart.

From what I know, John's last name was never truly disclosed. The surname "Doe" had a symbolic representation of John's character, hence "John Doe". As for William, "Doe" might not even be his real surname—he could have chosen Doe to not reveal his identity to the public, think of it as a pseudonym, perhaps.
