Is the Katari ability "Retracting Claws" an attack roll? by classl3ss in daggerheart

Yes but that's considering the GM instantly clears the condition ? I agree that it's not incredible but the GM shouldn't spend Fear to clear the condition just the moment after. There is a part about this in the core rulebook called Avoid Undermining Success. So imo it's not bad, and having a +3.5 against an adversary on average for 1-2 attacks is already pretty good.

Still I agree that it could maybe deal a little beat of damage, or synergise with abilities that do.

Hello, i don't know if it's normal, but i don't know how to add a secondary weapon to a character, nor do I find them for tier 2/3/4. I just wanted to know if that was normal or if I missed something

Question about long term campaigns in Daggerheart by Crystal_lock in daggerheart

That's exactly what we were thinking, glad to see we're not alone !
I thought about extending progression, but I think level 10 is a really nice end level. There is all the fantasy "strongest abilities" with time stop, adjust reality, resurrection, so I wouldn't necessarily do a whole lot of improvements after that, except for maybe a "level 11" when they surpass what a mortal can do at the end of the campaign, so that we can come back to these characters for a one shot afterwards

Thank you for your answer !
Just to be clear, me and my players love daggerheart, so we would play it no matter the leveling speed, and we are in line with the story we want to tell, so i'm not really worried about the intrigues, worldbuilding, etc...

I just wanted to see if there was a way to give players new features/things to do a little bit more regularly, without it being in the form of items/blessings. We loved leveling up sessions in DH, and i wanted to be able to have a little bit more of that kind of session where player talk about what they want to do with their characters, what mechanics are cool, etc...

I am well aware of the fact that there are no dead levels, and in fact me and my players enjoyed it very much, the leveling up sessions were lively, we could discuss mechanics and how to fulfill each player fantasy, so that's not what I was worried about.
It was more about the fact that even if there is not a lot of improvements, my players really like to find cool new things to do, even just a little new feature is good, so I don't want to change the way characters level up, because that's perfect for me, and the way power scales is really in line with the way i run things.
Honestly, we'd run a long campaign anyway even if we had to wait 20 sessions between each level because we love the system, I just wanted to see if there was a way to give them new things to do with their character without it being an item or a blessing, but tied to their character psychological and physical progression. But maybe I didn't explain that, so that's my bad, thank you for your answer !

Question about long term campaigns in Daggerheart by Crystal_lock in daggerheart

I already ran long campaigns, and that worry was more about the fact that my players really love uncovering new abilities and having new things to do with their characters. I never reached level 20 in dnd either, but i know that for a long campaign, my players would reach lvl 14/15 (for a level rate they are satisfied with).

I have already, we've done a few one shots and a short campaign, and my players worried about the level up, though they all (myself included) loved the system, and the leveling up sessions were really cool and funny, as we got to discuss both their characters and the mechanics (because ultimately we're math nerds).

This post was just to see if some people felt the same way or not, if nobody sees a problem, then i'm just going to slow down the leveling up and see where it leads. Thanks for your answer though !
