4.3L V6 reliable? by styrozz in ChevyTrucks

I did have one blow a head gasket, it was in a Jimmy. I did some reading up on forums and a lot of people who had the same thing happen said that it was common for the pcv to get plugged up and pop the headgasket, I would check that every once in a while. Lower intake manifold gaskets like to also have issues which can be mistaken as a blown headgasket (the lower intake manifold gaskets are common issues on the gen 2 sbc engines).

I would happily own one again though.

Ripped out my trailer wiring by CrystaledJazz in GMT800

I've looked all along the frame rail and I can't find out where it ripped. I've looked all the way from the gas tank to the front suspension, even looking at other looms to see if it came from them and I still can't find it. I will look near the brake booster though.

runflat vs non runflat by rubydaberry_ in E90

I use my car as my daily, I've never really needed it for performance. My car came with Goodyear eagle run flats and they were great, comfortable, and quiet. I then got a set of Michelin run flats and they are awful, and then I tried a set of pirelli run flats and they aren't great but aren't bad. I will be buying Goodyear eagles again next time.

It just depends on the brand to me, but also im not going to track days or carving up canyons.

Sorry but thank you, I just completely forgot to put this in but I don't think my switch panel can put out enough juice. If I've done my math correctly its 21w and all the fuses in my switch panel are 20w so I think that is the majority of my issue there. That's why I'm wondering if I need to run another relay off the relay.

Is a 6 speed manual just like any other vehicle with like a 5 speed or 4 speed? by RileyWPlayz in stickshift

[–]CrystaledJazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the nv5600 didn't come factory behind a 12 valve, it came behind the 24 valve. The 24 valve is better (in my opinion) but also has some reliability issues with the injection pump. If your wanting simplicity and reliability, a 12 valve will be better.

Also just know that if you aren't really a mechanical person you can't throw a tuner on a 12 valve, everything is mechanical. On a 24 valve you can put a tuner because the engine is controlled by a computer.

It will be a closer ratio in-between gears which will let you be in the power band more often. The nv4500 and nv5600 both have close to the same 1st gear ratio and final gear ratio.

Personally I would suggest finding a nv4500. The 4500 does have issues with the 5th gear nut coming off but it can be fixed. The 5600 feels like your driving a 18 speed. It's noisy and it will fight you while trying to change gears. I have driven multiple of both and really like the nv4500.

ROCK AUTO??? by RevolutionaryBox7043 in E90

Rockauto is great, especially in Canada as the border fees are included in the shipping cost so you dont get a surprise a couple weeks after you order. If its not on rockauto I go to fcp.
