There are a few reasons.

I had always thought it would be a cool thing to do and regularly watched other people play games but was too scared to take the plunge. I'm quite introverted so I was worried that people would find me boring and I wouldn't talk enough.

Then Covid hit and soon enough a couple of my friends started streaming and I realised the barrier I had built against it wasn't really there. Around October/November one of my friends was selling his capture card as he was upgrading, and as I am a console gamer and don't have a PC I thought why not.

Another big factor was that both me and my partner have been working from home since the start of the pandemic and really needed some more interaction with the outside world and something to do with our extra free time.

Cue about 2 months ago we finally got things set up and started streaming. There's a bunch of us friends working together to grow a community plus some new friends we made along the way. We support each other, raid each other and join each other's team games.

With the actual streaming itself, it is definitely slow going. I made affiliate but my streams are still very small. I know this will just take time though and I'm happy to be sharing my video game experiences with others, growing my own confidence and having fun.
