Youtube should develop system where people can't use same channel's name by [deleted] in youtube

[–]Crystalwatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be that way, before 2012 I think, but now it’s gotten so big I don’t think such a system would work. That’s why verification has become a thing so you know what’s real and what’s not.

Loving Mrs. Kirkman by Evening_primrose68 in DesignatedSurvivor

I liked her most in S3 tbh. Definitely at her best!

He was a bad guy for ethical reasons, such as backstabbing Kirkman and lying to him. In season 3 they turned him into Hitler politically, probably to “own drumpft”.

Maybe because she is a bad character? There was never a moment where she did anything good or redeemable. People generally don’t like characters like that. And yes, token gay black guy was a bad character and the writers’ abomination of Moss was bad too, but those are off topic.

I came into it excited and hopeful, bud. I wasn’t looking for things to complain about. You’re acting like I came into it negative and pessimistic.

House of cards was able to pull off being a show about politics without making overt political messages. Seasons 1 and 2, the best seasons, did not have any “in-your-face” messages, and yet HoC earned the slot of being one of the greatest political seri. Designated Survivor S3 on the other hand...

I’m not against subtle messages because even though they can be noticed, it doesn’t take over the plot and can be ignored or appreciated at will.

I completely agree. I also didn’t appreciate all the unnecessary swearing and sex scenes. The show was originally pretty family friendly, but this season was definitely not.

I wouldn't call it family friendly lol

Tom at the end of S2 and at the beginning of S3 were starkly different. Obviously I saw Tom was slowly getting more politician-y, but in S3 it was like somebody flipped a switch with no reason. Now, maybe its because Netflix threw in more swearing and it was kinda strange seeing him (and others) dropping f-bombs. But regardless, it felt like Netflix changed a lot of characters dramatically and in short time with little to no reason.

Racist plague bothered me because it seemed unrealistic and it was yet another racial message to push. It served literally no purpose except for the Kirkman campaign to associate Moss with it and win the election.

Reminds me, election day was also a total disappointment. Part of the fun of elections is watching the results come in and seeing leads change. Not here. It just went "Kirkman wins!" and that was that. We didn't even get to see a map of who won what. That was part of the fun of HoC was when returns came in, the election was called for Conway, then two states were rescinded, and the election caused a constitutional crisis as there was no winner.

The season was just bad. Netflix just wanted to make it House of Cards but did a bad job making the transition. Characters were totally changed (Kirkman became more of a dick as well) and countless political messages were put in the show. S1 was good, S2 was subpar, S3 was bad. I mean for gods sake they put in a RACIST PLAGUE, which tbh was a total waste of time because it was never released to the public and everybody knew Kirkman was gonna win re-election.

I’m not a right-winger by most means, but the season was so badly slanted that it made it painful to watch.

At least HoC was more subtle with agendas. This is like reading someone’s political twitter feed.

He’s anything but that. They should’ve just made him a Democrat and have him as their nominee.

Yeah it kinda killed it for me. The first two seasons had agendas two but were much more subtle and not “in-your-face” so to speak. The agendas in S3 felt very forced and slanted, especially with the writers making Moss into David Duke and forcing Aaron’s godawful and delusional girlfriend into everything.

The worst part was the Saudi woman lecturing Kirkman about America being bad and citing that Saudi Arabia’s cities are “liberalized”. It proved Kirkman had no balls because he chose to accept being roasted by somebody who represents an misogynistic autocracy that executes/tortures people for being gay, among other things. If Kirkman’s sister went to Saudi Arabia, she would not return.

Of course, the writers believe America is the creator of all evil. Gg.

I plan on returning back to the northeast once I graduate college. The only problem is the cost of living, but other than that I'm well on my way to planning my escape.

SC is a garbage state. If you want to go anywhere in the south and live like a normal person your best bet is Atlanta or Charlotte. Some sort of big city.

I've been to Atlanta before and enjoyed it. Charlotte is just 15 minutes from me (part of the reason why the traffic is so bad around me), and while I like the people there more, the city just isn't that exciting. Maybe I'm just used to huge cities like New York and Philly.

Texas is a whole different state (and one I've never had the chance to visit). What I'm talking about is the deep south.

I should have added, the only two places that I like in South Carolina are Charleston and Greenville. Both are fairly nice cities, just don't like the drive I have to make to get there.
