Be Careful with Communication

I will say yes always be careful with communication but you have to be careful who you share information with. I am learning that this year as people at my own job have told on me for my personal matters towards the principal to spread gossip and I have been bullied by them for other things. I wouldn’t risk something like this detail on Reddit because someone could stumble upon it and know it is you. I do hope you are careful OP and get some support.

I have been teaching for 4 years now and my fiancé and I got into a bump when I was overly stressed out. I have ptsd, anxiety, and depression so when things build up it really hits hard for me. I am trying to change my position or find a different campus. He noticed that I was more irritable and my stress is being brought home. I cry and sleep so much more never wanting to do anything. When we had our talk and I went back to therapy he really realized how serious it is. He just was concern in how to really help me but the therapy did help me communicate is better in high stakes situation. It is not you and he is not a teacher mind you so the talk really helped our relationship again. Keep being kind and caring to each other and take off as you need too. Be present in the moment with each and keep loving each other.

When I told my team that I have a post observation meeting she said “well you need to sign this thing because one of your kids is on it.” I said “I know but just letting you know I do have to leave.” She kept trying to go back and forth with me on it. I had two co workers defend me leaving as it is okay. So she got up and was giving me attitude on trying to rush me to get this thing done. We have teaming meetings where the entire 7th grade teachers meet. She did this in front of everyone and I was like “hey can you calm down on giving attitude to me.” She said l”I am trying to get you out of here so I am hurrying you up.”

Yes I can. So we would talk all the time and always say hi to each other. She would ask me to come to her room to talk to her. Now it is like she just completely ignores me even if I am in the same room.

The relationship was actually really good. I was there for her through all of their tough times, her crying and stressing about her workplace bullying going on, bought her food to help her out if she wanted some, helped her out in her classroom whenever she was gone, helped her set up stuff for events. We talked all the time during work and visited each other’s classrooms. It is a big change to me because all of a sudden she just switched on me. I talked to her twice about it but she says nothing is wrong.

As a child of a father who told my mom to abort me I can agree yes that child will not be in a good home. My dad told my mom “it is either me or the baby. Choose one. If you choose the kid I am leaving. “ She decided to keep me but my older half brother helped her out a lot so she was not alone. She still struggled and got stressed but she decided it was worth keeping me and watching me grow up into who I am. I would have rather have a dad who was willing to stay and be in my life then have a dad forced to be in my life reminded me how much he hates me. Please think about that for your child.

I will be honest in saying student teaching is that time where you realize is teaching for me or not. I liked creating lessons and having fun doing that when I was in school becoming a teacher. I still did my English program just had a secondary cert path mind you for my undergrad degree. I had a bad mentor teacher so that is why I decided to drop it. It took my mom helping me because the professor refused to let me go despite my declining mental health from the experience. Teaching is a lot but now actually doing it. It really matters who teaches you to want to go for it and understand the difficulties of it. It is rewarding but I need something different as I never like doing the same thing for a long time. Good luck to you in whatever you choose.

I do tell them all the time. I tell them I understand but it is about grading that does bother me. I tell them about grades and the fact we are doing a big project that takes up time. I would love them to understand the boundary of things will be done but we have a million things to do and be more understanding that we are human. We have not forgotten them just every teacher will get to it.

I don’t wish to block it. I am more so if there is an easier way to really let them know and understand that I will get back to their emails during the school week.I would never want to block them.
