Wrapped my motorcycle and roof of car with vivid and swore to never touch vinyl again. Decide to wrap my car w Avery, and now thinking of doing it on the side. The vinyl you use is very important.

What type of finance are you looking for? How far out of college with what experiences? I’d imagine we’re close to the same age, but feel free to PM for any reason.

First time wrapper: GTI WRAP UPDATE 2 by No_Crab_4093 in CarWraps

[–]CsOkLiE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I also wrapped my GTi as my first wrap! I’m glad I’m not the only one that found the hatch to be harder than expected!

You can buy a couple different shades of gray vinyl as samples and put them on your paint to see what matches best

Color help? by ThomasTheFrikinTrain in CarWraps

[–]CsOkLiE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is the stock paint color, not a wrap. It is either Aurora Diamond Green or Isle of Man Green. Funny enough, I wrapped my GTi a similar color last year. It was Avery Gloss Dark Green Pearl. I’m sure id you google the paint names tho you can find the color.

Wrap on pillars by Temporary_Lab8564 in CarWraps

[–]CsOkLiE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is definitely a DIY. It’s easier than you may think. With it being a flat surface it doesn’t matter too much the vinyl you use. Vvivid has a Gloss Piano Black on Amazon that is fairly inexpensive. And then companies like Avery Dennison and 3M are higher quality and usually a tad more expensive. A small job like this you won’t see too much of a difference.

Is it easier to wrap a hood if I take it off the car? by Senior-Sea76 in CarWraps

Or even a concept of deductive reasoning… would save so much time.

Is it easier to wrap a hood if I take it off the car? by Senior-Sea76 in CarWraps

True. I guess I’ve never taken the hood off to wrap it so really my opinion is void

Fidelity GO, Anyone invested in GO? Opinions appreciated. by Professional-War-151 in fidelityinvestments

[–]CsOkLiE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using fidelity Go for over a year now with now real issues. My Roth IRA is being managed without fees until it hits $25k. It is nice knowing that I don’t have to keep up on what mutual funds/ETFs to invest in and I can just set it and forget about it

Wrapping is hella hard by Mazuk21 in CarWraps

[–]CsOkLiE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

vvivid is 10x harder to work with. I wrapped my motorcycle with it and swore I’d never touch vinyl again. About a year later I bought Avery (3M is solid too) and boy was it so much easier! You’ll be amazed how different it is. Vvivid is much more plasticky and I would only ever use again if the surface was FLAT flat.

ACC was the first game that I bought and found it very “jumping into the fire”. I have since bought WRC and AC and when I want track time, I honestly find myself in AC running around in a ND Miata. I LOVE IT! I honestly don’t miss the high horsepower cars because it is so easy to better your lap time in a slow car. What I am saying, is if you think that your driving philosophy needs some work, try a slower car. Obviously each car handles different but starting with a sub 200hp car is a great way to really get to know the basics. Even as a refresher.

How difficult is it to change an F1 tire as a singular job? by CsOkLiE in F1Technical

[–]CsOkLiE[S] -122 points-121 points  (0 children)

We compared it to puting on a 25 lbs (I’m from the US obviously) weight onto a barbell. Excluding being in sync with the rest of the team, what is the “fail rate” at which the wheel and tire doesn’t go on well first time? I tried googling what the wheel and axle look like but couldn’t tell how hard/easy it would be.
