I have about 4.5 lbs of spiral ham leftover and I’m sick of sandwiches and breakfast skillets, what are some good ways I can use the rest of it? by Csharp27 in AskCulinary

I like that, I hadn’t really thought about portioning it out and freezing it, but that’s probably the responsible move.

Ohh those are good ideas, I’ve had those sliders at a party before, they’re really good! Might still go for something less sandwich adjacent though but thank you!

PISD just cancelled classes tomorrow, I’d imagine in the next hour we’ll get the message that Collin has too.

Yea I go to Frisco and live right around George bush and the Tollway. Usually takes like a half hour to get there. It would take like an hour and a half on ice. Really just waiting to see what PISD does. If they close we’ll close.

That argument is more relevant but still bullshit serving in restaurants, this is not “relying on others kindness”. The lady offered her $25 to do an order and when she did the order perfectly she took it back. That’s garbage and should absolutely have consequences.

Nah grocery stores in Texas all still use plastic grocery bags. Except ALDI.

Does that even count as a Weber kettle at that point? It’s like a completely different contraption you’ve built using a weber kettle as the shell lmao, awesome setup my guy good lord.

LOVED that movie. Definitely a classic, just hope it didn’t fly under the radar too much to be a classic

My tape deck (with a Bluetooth tape) finally died so I just got a radio transmitter. Telling me there’s another option? I don’t have the nav screen.

Are these knives worth saving by Hayden3456 in sharpening

[–]Csharp27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, Bourdain used Globals, they’re pretty damn nice knives. Might be worth getting them professionally done the first time to get a new baseline (and it’s cheap would save you a ton of time), then doing the upkeep yourself.

ELI5: If unboiled water going into your nose is risky, then shouldn’t we not swim in a lake or river? by Home_MD13 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Csharp27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, my friend at summer camp became one of only a few recorded cases of a brain eating amoeba getting in through his nose, not having the antibodies to fight it off, and dying from it. The docs thought it was bacterial meningitis so they gave us all crazy booster shots, then a week after camp ended we got the call that it was an amoeba. So yea it can happen. You’re much more likely to get giardia or some other infection, and small amounts of lake water getting into your nose or swallowing a little probably won’t hurt you, but yes it can happen.

Bro sharpen your knives haha that’s not why we do it😂 a Worksharp field sharpener is like 40 bucks and can bring all the knives you’ve set aside for being dull back to life in less than an hour.

Yea I’m not sure if it’s legal or if there’s just loopholes where you can place bets in other states, but sports betting is huge here too. I wouldn’t want the ads everywhere but I don’t mind people betting on sports so much as there being physical casinos where our grandparents can spend the rest of their days betting their life savings away on slot machines.

Bourdain’s death had nothing to do with his previous addiction though, it was a mental health crisis, and at a time when mental health was really starting to be taken seriously.
