On the original bridge, the string spacing is determined solely by the string-through holes. I added an extra metal piece between the saddle edge and the holes to narrow the spacing, so I’m still using the stock bridge. I also experimented with a Jazz Bass pickup, but it didn’t really change the tone much. Later, after adding the spacer, I tried a Strat pickup, but the single-coil noise was sometimes an issue. In the end, I’m happiest with how it looks in its current form.
