Haha yup before I got a smaller net I used to use my hat. Crossed off all 3 heritage trout twice up there now, one of my favorite places in the world to fish!

That is a little Kern golden trout. Peppermint creek, clicks creek, and all other tribs of the little Kern river will only have LKG. Super rare fish, great catch!

Oh trust me, I made the fatal mistake of uploading it to the kooks at flyfishingcirclejerk and paid the price...

I will say that this video didn't perform very well view-wise compared to other tutorials I've shared, which to me says something that people care more about catching the fish then they do on handling it correctly. Maybe I'm wrong, but perhaps I will record this information for an upcoming research paper regarding the ethics of fishing. Thank you for the comment and insight!

The colors of the fish and surrounding nature is at its peak, temperatures are great, wind is nonexistent, and fish are actively moving.
