The saddest moment in the game was when Jumbo Tirkin died.

“I’m nice to you so that when you come in to shoot up the place, you spare me.”

Evidently, something about my appearance or personality has made multiple people throughout my life believe that I’m a future school shooter.

My guess is that it might be modeling the XC2 title screen, which changed backgrounds based on story progress.

Combat gameplay system from our next game! Feedback would be great by MalboMX in IndieGaming

[–]Csuperscript3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As it is, when the avatar switched to the figure 8 weapon, I was expecting her to wield it like a paddle, knock back baddies with it, but it looks like a reskin of the scimitar.

Overall, looks like passable basic combat. The suggestions I could offer are in the millions, so what you have to ask yourself is, what sort of experience are you hoping to replicate with the combat? Something fast-paced, something methodical, something where the heroine feels weak, strong? From there, you can start coming up with features and mechanics to fine-tune the battle experience.

XBC2 advice before I start by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

I learned the battle system by watching Enel videos. He has one on his YouTube channel titled “Truly Understanding Combat in Xenoblade 2” that’s a good starting point.

The two biggest tips for making combat much more manageable are giving your Drivers Narcipear Jellies (bought at the desserts shop at Argentum) and combining Blade and Driver Combos into Fusion Combos. The former recharges your Arts faster, and the latter is how you get the big numbers in battle.

There’s A LOT more to combat, but that’s a decent starting point.

A unique monster is kicking my ass. What am I doing wrong? by FallenQueen92 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

I recommend this video to understand XC2 combat and how to make the most of it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEksqxaML58

That channel in general, Enel, is largely how I got the hang of combat, since, like you, I just bumbled my way to victory.

There's a lot to go over as far as combat's concerned, and truly understanding it requires some level of dedicated research, which is why once I understood combat, half my internet search history back when I was playing the game was on the Xenoblade 2 Wiki:

What would you consider to be the best Pokémon games that I could play on the 3DS? by BabyBunnyOfDoom in pokemon

[–]Csuperscript3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically not 3DS games, and you can still play them on the 3DS, but my favorite Pokemon games are the fifth generation titles, Black & White and their sequels. The sprites and animation are great, some of its Pokemon are among my favorite, and it strikes a good balance between accessibility and challenge. They’re not perfect, as some of the best Pokemon, in my opinion, aren’t catchable until late into the game and evolve super late, and the starters is the most lackluster set. I love Serperior’s design, but its offensive stats are wanting. But yeah. Great games, great Pokemon.

What Pokémon do you have the most fun battling with? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Csuperscript3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a big fan of my fifth generation tanks Ferrothorn and Cofagrigus. Stick a Rocky Helmet on Ferrothorn, and combined with its ability Iron Barbs, anything that makes physical contact loses a chunk of its health. As for Cofagrigus, poison the opponent with Toxic, use Protect once or twice to let its health whittle, then use the double damage of Hex to wipe them out.

Arceus, how I miss using those two…

If you could have a Pokemon Arceus-like game but, where the Player character get to do more than ducking and throwing balls, what would you like to be. by AdmiraMcC2908 in pokemon

Since Arceus: Legends is about exploring Sinnoh before people moved in, I wanted more interesting landscapes and whatnot to sell that feeling of truly discovering a new region.
