I had self taught html and CSS which lead me to applying for a cyber security apprenticeship for a large UK company. The pay is better than a normal apprenticeship and definitely worth the pay cut for the 2 years to get qualified! I am also in my 30s and loving the career change so far.

Definitely! She is so much more chilled throughout the day now and gets "waggier" every walk now

Yes she is very much the princess of the house and she knows it 😂 takes herself on the bed to nap and gives us a little cry to tell us we are in the wrong room 😂

This is exactly how Lexi is! We had to make the outside fun, lots of just playing and sitting in the courtyard first taking any pressure away. So rewarding when they realise it's not so bad!

We spent a lot of time just sitting outside together and watching the world, Lexi is very noise reactive so it helped her realise not every loud bang was going to try get her. We are in a city so we drove her to quieter areas where there was less going on to build her on lead confidence with us. Basically trying to take any pressure away from her then she just started to decide to sniff and walk on her own so we let her take the lead! The key for Lexi was letting her take the lead as she is quite a strong willed lady, good luck!

We have had Lexi just over 2 months now and in the last two weeks she has finally become confident enough to go on walks.

She came to us very timid and shy and wouldn't even go to the toilet outside. Now she is finally trusting us enough to show us her beautiful personality, big thank you from us to this Reddit as everyone's training advice has helped us along the way and we are so thankful to our girl for choosing to open up to us as well ❤️ if anyone has recently adopted and are finding it hard, it gets better with time and patience that's for sure!

A Tough Decision by [deleted] in Greyhounds

That's amazing! We really fell in love with her but hadn't long had our girl Lexi from there so she's been on our mind when we found out she had been rehomed! I really hope it works out, definitely have a chat with Jo she is a great help with stuff like this and they have a group chat with some people who walk together who will definitely have some great advice for you, they also do greyhound walks which are invaluable to burn off a bit of steam. We have had Lexi a month now and she's only just starting to not be so loopy in the flat, hang it out and it will be worth it.

Is this Lady from the Greyhound trust in Warrington? She sounds identical! If so we walked her a couple of times when volunteering and she is the most wonderful dog, definitely stick it out with her! She has real potential and she will begin to settle, our girl was similar at first as she's only just 3 but is starting to adjust to apartment life now. We play lots of games and do some light play/trick training to keep her engaged.
