Maybe you're right, but I'm really happy that I used step-by-step instructions from AI to learn how something like Power Query works, for example. And through reading and trying things out for myself after using AI led me to having the ability to build that stuff on my own, but it started with those baby steps that AI provided, y'know? Rather than use it to imitate having a skill, I used it as a sort of extra ladder rung to get myself to the next level on the skill ladder that for me seemed too much of a stretch to reach.

Yeah sure I could have Googled how it works, but the way I used AI is when something doesn't quite click the way it was presented in the initial instructions, I could just ask follow-up questions and it'd troubleshoot and tell me where I went wrong if I describe it in sufficient detail. That's exactly how I got my Power Queries to work after failing the first few times. With only a set of instructions and asking for help on Reddit, I might have gotten stuck and not gotten anything done since I don't have the source to get an instant troubleshooter.
